Chapter 31

- May 11th 1975 -

Y/N's POV

Another day without a job was interesting to me. I was trying not to worry about getting a job since Alan did not want me to be worried. But you know me I am always worried about something. I don't know how I became such a worried person but maybe taking it day by day has caused it.

"Why do you seem like you are on edge?" Alan asked as he sat next to me.

"I am not on the edge but it just feels like it is," I said.

"Come here my love," Alan said as he opened his arms for me.

I laid down in his arms.

"You know I always love when you feel safe in my touch," Alan said.

"I think you are the only place I feel safe at if I am being honest with you," I said.

"Well I am glad to be your safe getaway from anything and everything my love," Alan said.

I placed a kiss on his chest and closed my eyes.

"I am sorry if I act like a child sometimes," I said.

"Anxiety and stress make us both do that and we make everything okay for each other," Alan said with a smile.

"You know anytime you feel down or confused make sure you let me know my love," I said.

"I always do and you always take care of me the way you know how to. I could not ask for anything better than that," Alan said as he kissed the top of my head.

The door to the bedroom swung open and it was Derek.

"What are you two doing in here?" Derek asked.

"Just talking. Is that a problem?" I asked as I looked at the door at him.

"Oh, well you guys are like so very quiet in here," Derek said.

"It is because we are so deep in conversation," Alan said.

"What are you guys talking about then?" Derek asked he walked into the room.

"We are just talking about life and the way it affects us," I said.

"How does it affect you?" Derek asked.

"It makes us both be stressed and have anxiety from time to time," Alan said.

"We always are full of stress in this life and of course now we do not know where our life is kind of headed," Derek said.

"Oh yeah. Well I think we are heading in a good direction but sometimes it can be tricky," Alan said.

"That is what we were talking about like right now for me. I am not too sure where my life is going and it is kind of eating at me for some reason," I said.

"Well you are engaged, you just quit your job, so yes I can see why you would be worried," Derek said.

"Thanks for your help," I said.

"Oh no problem. You know I am here to help at any time," Derek said.

"Are we having a party in here?" Les asked as he walked in the room.

"No, we are not having a party in here," Alan said.

"We are just trying to relax and talk," I said.

"So now it is kind of all of us just talking in here," Les said.

"I guess it is going to be that way," Alan said.

"You know we are not bugging you guys by being in here. I think it is nice when we get to be together more since we all do live in one house," Derek said.

"We never said it was a bad but thing but what if we just wanted some time for the two of us?" Alan asked.

"I guess it would be okay for you two to have time on your own but it is not fair for you to not share your feelings with us," Les said.

"We are not hiding anything we just want some time for us. I think it is nice for us to have some time for us," Alan said.

"I guess so we can go now," Derek said.

Derek and Les walked out of the bedroom. Alan looked at me.

"They are gone now," Alan said with a bit of a smile.

"I know they are," I said as I laid my head back on him.

He wrapped his arms around me.

"I wonder if it is going to pour rain in a little bit," Alan said.

"It might but the weather is something I am not even thinking about right now," I said.

"Well if it does rain we need to shut the window. So if we are going to end up falling asleep let me shut the window," Alan said.

I moved my head off of him and he got up and shut the window.

He laid back down next to me and pulled the covers up for us and we ended up taking a nap. I do not know how long we were asleep because we woke up to Eric jumping on the bed.

"Wake up wake up wake up," Eric said.

"Mmm, what time is it?" I asked as I opened my eyes slowly.

"It is like 6pm and you guys have been in here for quite some time. We got worried so here I am now waking you guys up," Eric said.

"How long have we been asleep for?" I asked.

"I don't know I think we closed our eyes around like 2," Alan said as he yawned.

"So with that being said you have taken a whole 4 hour nap," Eric said.

"I think that is the longest nap I have taken in quite some time," I said.

"I know some of our naps are only like 2 hours but this one was crazy," Alan said.

"Well dinner is ready in the kitchen if you guys would like to have some," Eric said as he got off of the bed.

"Today kind of feels like a blur but I am not too sure as to why," I said.

"I think it is nice to think about a day to be relaxing but this does kind of feel weird," Alan said.

We sat up in the bed and got up.

"Follow," Eric said.

We went into the kitchen to have dinner with the rest of the guys.

"Aww, look who is finally awake," Derek said.

"We are awake," I said with a chuckle.

"About time," Les said.

"Mhm," Alan said.
