Y/N's POV
It was Alan's birthday today and I had gotten up a little bit early to do some things for him. We were back in Edinburgh just for today and tomorrow. I was making him a birthday breakfast which consisted of pancakes that would be a cute little stack. I was excited since I loved to do birthday things.
Derek walked into the kitchen since he had heard me in the kitchen.
"What are you up to?" Derek asked.
"I am making Alan his birthday breakfast," I said with a smile.
I finished making the pancakes and got them plated. I got some coffee poured for him.
"Oh nice. You are one step ahead of me," Derek replied as he got himself a cup of coffee.
"I am always ready to do things for birthdays," I said with a smile.
"Do you think he is going to be awake by the time you go into the bedroom?" Derek asked.
"I think he might be if not I am going to be waking him up. I am not going to light the candle until I walk in there," I said with a chuckle.
"Mmm good idea," Derek said.
"Are you going to come with me?" I asked as I grabbed the lighter and plate of pancakes.
"Yes, I do not think you have enough hands to bring it all in there," Derek said as he picked up the cup of coffee.
We went into the bedroom and Alan was still asleep. He looked so precious when he was asleep.
"Okay, now what are we going to do?" Derek asked.
I went over to the bed and kissed Alan awake. He woke up and smiled at me.
"Mmm, good morning," Alan mumbled.
"That is one way to wake him up," Derek said with a chuckle.
"Happy birthday my love," I said with a smile.
"Happy birthday man," Derek said.
"Thanks guys," Alan said as he sat up.
"I think this is for you," Derek said handing him a cup of coffee.
"Oh, thank you," Alan said.
"You are welcome," Derek said.
Alan took the cup of coffee and took a sip of it then he put it on the nightstand.
"I also made you some breakfast," I said as I handed him the plate of food.
"Are you going to the light the candle in the middle?" Alan asked with a chuckle.
"Yes," I said.
I lit the candle for him and me and Derek sung happy birthday. Alan blew out the candle.
"You guys are too good to me," Alan said with a smile.
I took the candles so he could enjoy his breakfast.
"We are just good enough for you if you think of if that way," Derek said.
"Well thank you both," Alan said.
I sat at the side of the bed. Derek sat on the end of the bed.
"What are you going to want to do today?" Derek asked.
"I have no idea. I thought you guys would have some ideas for us to do," Alan said as he ate his food.
"Well we could wait until the boys wake up and see what they are up to," Derek said.
"That would be good. I want to spend the day with them as well as you guys," Alan said.
"And then mom and dad will be around later for dinner," Derek said.
"I do think it is kind of interesting how we are still on tour but we came back home for a couple of days," Alan said.
"I know. I don't know what is going on with the way the tour is laid out but I am kind of glad we got to come back for your birthday," Derek said.
"I know because being able to have mom and dad around is going to be nice," Alan said.
"And then I think we fly out for the next tour dates we have," Derek said.
"I think that would probably be the case. I just think it is quite unique how those dates are going over," I said with a chuckle.
"I don't know it is just how they laid it out. I don't know if they thought letting us come home was good for my birthday or how they planned that out," Alan said as he finished his food.
"I think it might have been because of your birthday or there was just nothing for us to do in the moment," Derek said.
"Well I don't know if there was nothing for us to do or it was there way of saying get some rest before we go full on into the tour," Alan said with a chuckle.
"I don't know but this is nice for a day or two," Derek said.
"As much as I love being on tour it does come with some mental prep," Alan said.
"Oh I know it would for sure," I said.
"But having a good support team is always going to be the best thing possible," Derek said.
"And we will always have one another to lean upon," Alan said.
Derek took Alan's dishes into the kitchen and cleaned them. Alan looked at me.
"So you like to make breakfast for the birthday boys?" Alan asked.
"Well when it comes to you absolutely. And then of course I did it for Derek too back in March," I said.
"I love you," Alan said with a chuckle.
"I love you too," I said as I kissed his nose.
"I should get up and get ready for the day. I know we have a couple of things to do today and then tomorrow we have to leave again at night so," Alan said as he got up.
"I know my love. Today is going to be fun for you," I said with a smile.
"I think you are the best person who could possibly be mine," he said.
I hugged him and then he went about getting ready for the day. The boys were all up at this point in the kitchen eating.
I went back into the kitchen and helped Derek clean up the kitchen. I had a little bit of food to eat as well. Soon enough Alan was joining us in the kitchen.
"Okay guys I am ready when you guys are," Alan said with a smile.
"Birthday boy is ready then so are we," I said with a smile.
"Lets go," Eric said.
We headed out of the house to enjoy the birthday boy and the things we were going to do today.
