Y/N's POV
It was almost Halloween and we wanted to do something for the holiday. We did enjoy dressing up but sometimes it became a bit much. We always had a hard time figuring out what to be for Halloween. This year we were planning on being a scarecrow and tinman from the movie Wizard of Oz. We thought this would be fun and I always wanted to be a scarecrow.
"I think our costumes are going to be a lot of fun. I know the movie is kind of an older one but I think it is nice we came up with something that is not going to be done much," Alan said.
"Or maybe it will be done a couple of times but I think the kids will be interested. I think it is nice to be dressed up when the kids come to the door," I said.
"I think so too. My favorite part about the whole thing is if they know who you are dressed up as or who you are dressed up like," Alan said.
"Most of the kids are pretty smart," I said.
"You know one of these days we will have a smart little kid," he said.
"I know and it is going to be amazing raising that little baby into an amazing human," I said.
"I think we are going to make some amazing parents," Alan said with a smile.
"I think so too," I said.
"When do you think we should plan on becoming parents?" he asked.
"I don't know but when we do the time will be right for us and we will know it," I said with a bit of a smile.
"And Derek is going to be an amazing uncle," he said with a small smile.
"I know he will. I am excited that when we have kids they are going to have such amazing people all around them," I said with a smile.
"The boys are quite amazing," he said.
"Oh of course. And they will have amazing grandparents too," I said.
"I think it is nice how we have our lives somewhat situated out," he said.
"Me too. I am also glad neither of us have to be at work right now," I said.
"I know," he said as he laid his head on my shoulder.
"Are any of the boys going to be coming over today that I should know about?" I asked.
"I think Les might be coming into the house here in a little bit," he said.
"Alright like soon or are we going to be surprised when he shows up?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Knowing him he is going to show up whenever he wants to," he said.
"Well true he is kind of known for doing that," I said.
"Yeah, I think it is nice though. It leaves a little bit of spark in your step," he said.
I kissed his head.
"True," I said.
"Do you ever start to think a little too much?" he asked.
"All of the time my love. What is on your mind?" I asked.
"I don't know I am just thinking about how life is changing. What if one day people decide they do not want to listen to the music I put out?" he asked.
"Why are you thinking that way my love? People are always going to love you," I said.
"But what if one of these days they do not love me no more? Or they don't like the kind of music I come up with?" he asked.
"You will always be loved and admired by lots of people. It is going to be a long time before people get tired of you," I said.
"But how do you know it is not going to just change one day?" he asked.
"Look at the people who are admired have you seen them lose anything?" I asked.
"Well no but those kinds of people are admirable people. Do you think I am someone people would like to admire?" he asked.
"You are. I don't know why you are thinking you would not be," I said.
"I don't know. Time just changes the way people think and sometimes it changes the way I think too," he said.
"That is kind of just part of life. And life is one of those things we can't predict," I said as I began to play with his hair.
He closed his eyes.
"I know but I wish we would be able to. I just know I have something to fall back on in case all of this crumbles beneath my feet," he said.
"Baby start thinking more positive. You are doing amazing and it is going to continue to be amazing," I said.
"I trust you. I just do not know how much I trust myself," he said.
"If you love me you should believe in yourself way more than you do right now. You are going to always be a star," I said.
"I love how much confidence and support you give me. I don't know how you do it but without you I do not know where I would be right now," he said.
"I don't know where I would be right now if I did not have you either. I always think of the first time we realized we liked one another," I said.
"Me too. I think it was cute how we figured out we did have feelings for one another and how it came to be so quick as soon as it happened," he said.
"If it was not for Derek being late that day I wonder how long it would have taken for us to realize we were meant to be," I said.
"I think we would have figured it out but I do not know how it would have gone then," he said.
"Me neither but this life is perfect the way it is," I said with a bit of a smile.
"You are so special to me and always will be," he said.
"And you will always be so special to me too," I said as I kissed his cheek again.
He smiled softly.
"I love when you smile," I said.
"And you are the reason," he replied.
I smiled and cuddled up with him on the couch.
