Y/N's POV
I had been thinking about going back to college to get another degree. But it would be kind of hard to do work and a degree at the same time. But I see how much fun the music business seems to be but also Alan tells me all about the down sides to it. I also thought of going into Hospitality it seems like it could be a fun career path. Since right now as an English major I get to edit articles and such but not travel much. One of the jobs I have had made some exceptions but I would like to be able to do more in life.
"You seem like you have been thinking a lot," Alan said as he wrapped his arms around me.
"I have been," I said as I laid my head on his chest.
"What have you been thinking about?" Alan asked.
"Well you know how I mentioned a while ago about maybe going back to college?" I asked.
"Oh yeah," he said.
"I am kind of thinking of going to get a degree in Hospitality or something along those lines. I would have more freedom in my job. I could also use the two degrees to get some place," I said.
"If that is something you want to do then I say go for it my love," Alan said as he kissed my head.
"It is going to mean I am going to be busier than ever before," I said.
"As long as it does not take a mental toll on you that is all I care about," he said.
"I am not too sure if it is going to but then again you know anything is possible," I said.
"Well you are 25 and you have a whole life ahead of you my love. Anything you want to do I know you can do it," Alan said.
"You are so encouraging of me," I said.
"Isn't that what I am here for?" he asked with a bit of a chuckle.
"Well yeah but if I said I was going to leap off a bridge would you encourage it?" I asked.
"Of course not my love. That is something you would never do and I would never let you do," he said.
"Well I know but I was just wondering," I said with a chuckle.
"I think it is interesting how you have so many likes in life," he said.
"I wonder how I am ever going to pick one of these career paths and stick to it. Lucky for you - you are so talented in all of the things you do," I said.
"How is that lucky for me?" he asked.
"Well you kind of have your career figured out and then there is me who is not even sure what is going on in her life," I said.
"And that is okay my love. You are allowed to not have it all figured it out. You think a couple of years ago I thought the music thing would be my main source of income right now?" he asked.
"Well no. I mean I remember the days you were working as a plumber even before we got together," I said.
"I kind of thought that was my career path I was supposed to take. And maybe that is just like you being an editor with your English degree. Maybe the Hospitality thing is your music path," he said.
"You know I never did think of it that way," I said.
"Well that is kind of another reason why I am here," he said.
"I love when we are able to talk about things. It always makes me feel so much better about these kinds of things," I said.
"I am glad I am able to comfort you and make you feel better about things," Alan said.
Soon the door opened and it was Derek. Mine and Alan's eyes shifted to Derek.
"What are you two doing in here?" Derek asked as he walked in the door.
"I don't know just laying in this bed and talking about life," Alan said.
"Do you guys wanna go out and watch the stars with us?" Derek asked.
"You guys are going to watch the stars?" Alan asked.
"Yeah," Derek said.
"And since when do you guys do things like that?" Alan asked.
"Since now. We thought it would be nice so do you guys want to come or not?" Derek asked.
"I think it would be a nice thing for us to do," I said as I looked from Derek to Alan.
"Then we will be there in a short couple of minutes," Alan said.
"Sounds fun," Derek said as he left the bedroom.
"I love you baby," Alan said as he kissed my head.
"I love you more my love," I said as I pecked his lips and sat up.
"I think when we get back we are going to be falling asleep," Alan said as he yawned.
"I think so too," I said.
"I think it is nice we get to watch the stars though," Alan said as he got out of bed.
I got out of bed.
"Wonder what made the boys want to go do some star watching," I said.
"I don't know but anything is kind of possible when it comes to those guys," Alan said as he took my hand.
"We can't forget shoes," I said with a chuckle.
We both slipped on a pair of shoes and met up with the boys.
"You guys ready to go?" Les asked.
"Yeah, where are we going?" I asked.
"To the park not too far from here," Woody said.
"Alright then," Alan said.
"Taking two cars?" I asked.
"Yeah, some of you guys come with me and the rest of you guys go with Woody," Les said.
So we ended up taking the two cars and ending up at the park.
We laid out some blankets and laid down on the grass.
"It is quite nice being able to do this again," Eric said.
"It is one of those things to clear your mind and your soul," Les said.
"I agree," Woody said.
Alan laid his head on my chest and we looked at the stars.
"Let's see if we can name anything in the sky tonight," Derek said.
"I think it would be nice for us to be able to do so," Eric said.
"But then again I am not the smartest when it comes to star formations," Derek said.
"Don't have to be," Woody said with a chuckle.
Another random night with the boys.
