Y/N's POV
Today was the day me and Alan would be decorating for Christmas. The boys would not be home for quite a bit of time. They would make it back by Christmas which was good but it did feel weird with them gone for so long. I always thought the holidays would be all of us but I have Alan so it is very important to me.
"I think it is weird how it is just the two of us you know. But then again this is our first start to December like this so it is kind of new to us," he said.
"I know. I think about it too you know. I mean I am not mad about it but I do hope the guys are having fun on their tours," I said.
"I know they are. I am just so glad I did not choose to go with them because you would be alone and I would miss you so much," he said.
"I know. I would have missed you too. I think it is weird when we are apart but I know it helps us in the long run," I said.
"I wonder what it would be like if the boys had girlfriends," he said.
"I know. I wonder how it would be too but you know it would be kind of hard for them," I said.
"Oh I could imagine. If it is hard for us when the two of us are apart and it is not even for too long then it would be quite difficult for them," he said.
"I wonder if they ever will get girlfriends. I think it would be good for them you know," I said.
"I think they will at some point you know. It has been the best thing to ever happen to me but you know you are my wife so it is kind of a whole different situation," he said.
"Mmm true as you are my husband which makes me so happy when it comes to saying that," I said with a bit of a smile.
"So shall we quite chit chatting and begin to put this tree up?" Alan asked as he looked at the tree box on the ground.
"I think so," I said with a bit of a chuckle.
He pecked my lips and smiled. We both began to get the tree put up and we began to decorate it.
"I think we have mistletoe somewhere around here," he said as he picked up the mistletoe.
I looked at him.
"Are you sure this is how this is going to go?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied with a smile.
We kissed and smiled at one another.
"Back to the tree," he said as he smiled at me.
We finished putting the tree together.
"I think this looks beautiful. I wish it was way easier to get images to the boys. I think we should take some pictures with the tree though of it and then with us in front of it," he said.
"The boys will just have to see it when they get home. I wish we could send them a picture but it is kind of impossible since they are always moving around," I said.
"I know. That is kind of whole thing when it comes to being on a tour," he said.
"Touring seems fun but then again you are on a plane or in a bus for time after time," I said.
"And it gets tiring if you are always moving around like that," he said.
"Yeah, it does get to be tiring I would assume," I said.
We pulled out some more decorations and began to decorate the rest of the house. It soon looked like the holidays were so in order.
"Now it feels like everything is a little bit more on track. We have the decorations up and we should be making cookies soon," he said as he pecked my lips.
"I think we should do that too. What kind of cookies do you want to make?" I asked.
"I think any kind of cookie might be able to cure this cookie want in me," he said with a chuckle.
"We could make two kinds of cookies but we might want to make small batches. Or we could make enough and bring some to the neighbors," I said.
"I think bringing the neighbors some sort of cookie might be a nice thing for us to do," he replied.
"Well then let's clean up the boxes and put those away. We then can head into the kitchen and get started," I said.
Soon we put up the empty boxes where they go. We then headed into the kitchen.
"I think it is nice we know how to make cookies from scratch. This is going to be a little different by making the recipes slightly different but it is going to be fun," he said.
"Anytime we get to make cookies it is interesting. I love the idea of making cookies," I said with a smile.
"Me too. I feel like this is something that brings us closer together each time," he said.
"You think this brings us closer together?" I asked as I looked at him.
"Of course. I think it is nice to be able to do this together and it is something we have shared for the last few years," he said.
"It is special," I said with a bit of a smile.
We began to make some basic chocolate chip cookies first.
"I think it is nice when the recipes do not call for eggs," he said.
"It does make trying the dough a little bit better," I said.
"Well of course my love," he said.
"Yes baby," I said.
Soon those cookies would be in the oven.
"What kind of cookies do you want to make next?" Alan asked as he leaned against the counter.
I looked at him.
"What kind of do you want to make is the real question?" I asked.
"Well I think a good kind of cookie to make would be gingerbread cookies," he said.
We then went on to make some more cookies which were gingerbread cookies.
"I wonder how many cookies we might end up having by the end of this," I said.
"I think quite a bit," he said with a smile.
Another day of baking and celebrating Christmas together.
