Y/N's POV
Today was Christmas Eve and we were at Derek and Alan's house for the day. It was always nice spending time with the family. Alan had met my parents yesterday and today would be the day I was meeting his officially.
"Mom and dad should be coming in the next few hours," Derek said.
"I know and I am so excited for you to meet them this way. I know it has been a bit of time but you know," Alan said as he looked at me.
"It is going to be nice and my fam loved meeting you yesterday," I said.
"I know and I felt so special," Alan said with a smile.
"You know how much I love you right," I said.
"Of course I do my love," Alan said.
"Are you two going to be like this all morning until mom and dad get here?" Derek asked.
"I don't know it just depends," Alan said with a chuckle.
"We will be quiet," I said with a chuckle.
"I mean you do not have to but it is fun to think about," Derek said.
"It is fun?" Alan asked.
"Yeah, because one of these days I will have a girl of my own," Derek said.
"Mmm good point," Alan said.
"I think it is going to be fun when we get to go on double dates with you," I said.
"That will be fun but for now it is going to be as a third wheel. I think it is completely fine that way," Derek said.
"Oh of course. You are the best of a best friend a girl could have," I said.
"I think it is nice we get to hang out until mom and dad get here. It is 9 so they should be coming around 1," Derek said.
"I think it is nice we are enjoying the holiday today," Alan said.
"I know and it is kind of different but it is a good different," Derek said.
"This is my first holiday being your girlfriend," I said.
"That is true," Alan said.
"I think it is special the first holiday the parents are coming and everything," Derek said.
"It makes me happy to think the family is going to be all complete," Alan said.
I smiled and looked at Alan.
"You look so cute when you smile," Alan said.
"Mmm, so do you," I said.
"Well moving on let's go into the kitchen and see what we need to prep," Derek said.
"Everything is in the oven besides like you know the dessert," Alan said.
"Well right you cannot put some of them in yet," I said with a chuckle.
"I think this is going to be a lot of fun. I am quite excited to be doing this as a fam," Derek said.
"Well what do you guys want to do in the meantime?" I asked.
"Well we can just chill out or maybe play some sort of card game," Alan said.
"That sounds like it could be fun. Card games are never boring," Derek said.
"Well let me go grab some cards then," Alan said.
Alan went and grabbed some cards and we all met up in the living room.
We all sat down and began to play the card games for a bit of time.
"Well this is something we should do," Derek said getting up and putting a record on.
"Oooh music is always a nice touch," I said.
"And it is holiday so it is nice too," Derek said.
"I think it is funny how sometimes we think of putting a record on but we don't always go through with it," Alan said.
"True and music is kind of one of those things that involves us so deeply," I said.
Alan looked at me and was just smiling.
"Did I do something?" I asked as I looked at him.
"No, I just love to look at you and admire you for who you are," Alan said.
"I wish I had someone to tell me that," Derek said with a chuckle.
"You will when the time is right," Alan said as he looked at Derek.
"Mmm good point until then I am going to continue to enjoy the single life. I have made it far being single so," Derek said as he chuckled.
"Being single is fun for you and I can tell how much fun you have with it," I said.
"Oh of course. Being single I have so much to do when I have nobody I am settled to," Derek said.
"It is nice being you huh?" Alan asked.
"Yes, it is and I have fun with it," Derek said.
We continued to play our card games until we eventually got bored. The boys went and turned the oven off and came back into the living room.
"You know you did not have to clean up the living room for us," Alan said.
"Well I want it to look nice by the time your parents get here," I said.
"But you did not make it messy," Derek said.
"I will always love to help in any way possible," I said with a smile.
"Which is another thing I just love about you," Alan said with a smile.
"She is quite special in the way she is always wanting to help no matter what," Derek said.
"Still grateful you helped me meet her," Alan said with a smile.
"Actually you two helped each other find each other," Derek said.
"Why do you say it that way?" I asked.
"Because you chose to be out here one day when she came over. And it was kind of from there how you guys became so close," Derek said.
"I guess that is true," Alan said.
"I think it is so special," I said with a smile.
Derek chuckled and looked at the two of us.
"You two are always so sweet together," Derek said.
"I know we are sweet," I said with a chuckle.
"I wonder how soon mom and dad will be here in all truth," Alan said.
"I think it should not be too long," Derek said.
"I think it should be any minute now they are coming," Alan said.
"I am so excited to meet them again but in this way," I said.
"I think well not think I know they are just going to love and adore you," Alan said.
"Oh I know they will," Derek said.
I smiled and soon enough I was meeting his parents.
