Y/N's POV

Alan's birthday was tomorrow and I had been planning around it all month long. I had began to think about what I wanted to plan last month and since he was a simple person.. I decided on doing a little celebration here at the house. I got Derek on board with taking him out on a little brother date today so me and the boys could get the house all decked out. I always loved birthdays.

"I think it is nice how Alan did not think twice about Derek taking him out to the movies," Les commented.

"I know. It is nice to know we have plenty of time to get this decorating done," I said as I opened a box of decorations.

"Well the car just pulled out of the driveway so we can get started," Eric said as he turned from the window.

"Perfect," I said.

"When is the cake going to be ready for pick up?" Woody asked.

"In about an hour so I will need one of you to go get it," I said.

"I will go ahead and go get it just remind me when and I will be on the way," Les said.

"Sounds like a plan," I said.

Soon we got to getting the decorations done.

"I am surprised you did not plan something more outrageous," Woody said.

"Why? Do you think Alan wanted something more than what this is going to turn out to be?" I asked.

"Now you have her worried about the whole thing," Eric said.

"No, but I know how you are. Sometimes you go big and bold for things but this is nice," Woody said.

"Alan is going to love this because it came from the heart. And you know how Alan is he likes simple things," Les said.

"That is what I thought but then Woody had me questioning if I knew anything about my husband after all," I said with a chuckle.

"You know him very well," Les said.

"I think you and Les are more likely to be the closest out of us," Woody said.

"I think so too. I am more like her brother than anything else besides like Derek but you know he is the brother in law," Les said.

"I think we are doing good on timing," Woody said.

A bit more time would pass and Woody was off to go pick up the cake.

"I think we are good to go on the decorations," I said.

"What do we need to get done next?" Eric asked.

"Well we have to set everything up for the cake in the fridge," I said.

"On it," Eric said as he headed into the kitchen.

"So are we going to be surprising him with this tonight?" Les asked.

"Well yeah the movie ends right towards midnight so by the time the boys get in then it is going to be midnight," I said.

"And you know Derek he is going to take the long way around. I don't know if Alan will catch on but it will make us wonder for a bit of time," Les said with a chuckle.

"Mmm, good point. I just hope this works out the way we hope it will," I said.

"It is going to be just fine and he is going to love it," Les said.

I nodded. Soon Eric came out of the kitchen.

"Okay, the space is cleared in the fridge for the cake," Eric said.

"Perfect," I said.

"So we will do the little lunch thing in the mid-day tomorrow right?" Eric asked.

"Yeah, and we are going to order his favorite foods in so he can enjoy them," I said.

"You are too good to him sometimes and you are too good to us too on our birthdays," Les said.

"I just try to be the best I can," I said.

A little bit of time would go by again and soon Woody was walking in with the cake.

"Can we see the cake?" Les asked.

"Of course," I said.

Woody set it down in the kitchen and soon we took a look at it.

"Wow you designed that well," I said.

"I thought it looked perfect when they showed me so I hope it is good?" Woody asked.

"It is perfect. Thanks for picking it up," I said with a bit of a smile.

"Of course. We all work on things like this together," Woody said.

We got the cake put into the fridge. A bit more of time would go by. We turned off the lights and began to wait.

"So this is how the waiting begins," Eric said with a chuckle.

"I am sure they should be pulling up any minute," I said.

We soon heard keys in the door. We all got quiet and we had the room dark. The door opened.

"Hello?" Derek asked in question.

"Where is everyone?" Alan asked.

We turned the lights on and jumped out saying Happy Birthday as the clock struck midnight.

"Aww you guys this is so sweet," Alan said with a smile on his face.

"We hope you like it," Woody said.

"Like it? This is amazing and so amazing of you guys to do," Alan said.

"Good work Derek," Eric said with a chuckle.

"I thought so," Derek said with a chuckle as he shut the door.

"I thought something was kind of up but did not want to question it," Alan said as his eyes turned to me.

"I think we had a nice evening at the movies," Derek said.

"We did and it was fun," Alan said with a smile.

"Happy birthday my love," I said as I looked at Alan.

"Thank you baby," Alan said.

I walked over and gave him a kiss and smiled. He smiled.

"You two are too cute sometimes but sometimes you aren't," Derek said with a chuckle.

"It is late we should all get to bed," Woody said.

"Yes, we should," Eric said.

"I kind of forgot we are not at home," Les said.

"We get to go home," Eric said.

"Or you guys could stay since it is my birthday," Alan said as he looked at the boys.

"Alright then," Les said.

"We might just run home for a couple of things," Derek said.

"Alright then," I said.

Soon the boys left to go pick up a couple of things at their house.

"So you planned all of this huh?" Alan asked.

"I might have," I said.

"I knew it," Alan said as he kissed me again.

I returned the kiss. To Alan's birthday just beginning.
