Y/N's POV
Today was the day me and Alan decided to go out on a little road trip. We had never really planned out a little getaway but we had a couple of days off of work and we thought it would be fun to do so. Most of the time Derek would come with us but he did not get off of work.
"You guys get to go and have some fun times meanwhile I am stuck here," Derek said with a chuckle.
"Well it is not our fault that we have some time off," I said with a chuckle.
"Mmm, true but I guess if I had some built-up vacation I could be able to take some time off. I just don't think about this kind of things ahead of time," Derek said.
"If you did think about these kind of things ahead of time you would have a lot more things to do with us. That is kind of why I work so much so I can get these days off," Alan said.
"Me too. I mean it just depends on the kinds of things we are doing day to day," I said.
"Are you all packed?" Derek asked.
"Yes, I am," I said.
"How about you Alan?" Derek asked looking at me.
"Yeah, we are both all packed. What time is it?" I asked.
"It is like 8," Derek said.
"What time do we have to be out of here?" I asked.
"We have to leave about 9 so we can get on the road and drive up to the hotel by like 2," Alan said.
"Remember you can check in by 3 so you might have to sit around for a bit of time," Derek said.
"Mmm good point," I said.
"And where are you guys going?" Derek asked.
"To a little town just right out of Edinburgh," Alan said.
"Then why are you saying it is going to take you so long to get out there?" Derek asked with a chuckle.
"I don't know. You know anything is possible," Alan said.
"Well I guess so," Derek said.
"I think it is kind of interesting to see how long it takes us to get out there," I said.
"It won't take you guys very long," Derek said.
"Well let us be then," Alan said.
I looked at Alan and he smiled at me.
"Now look at me and smile," Derek said.
I looked at Derek and smiled.
"Well we should just hang out and relax," Alan said.
"You guys can do anything for some time depending on what time you even want to get out of here," Derek said.
"Well like we said we would be leaving in about an hour," I said.
"Then come in the kitchen and try these brownies I made," Derek said.
Derek went into the kitchen and we followed behind him.
"You are not going to be throwing any parties while we are away?" Alan asked.
"I don't even like parties. Let alone why would I throw one?" Derek asked with a chuckle.
Derek got us all a brownie.
"You guys like to make brownies huh?" I asked.
"It is one of my favorite things to make but you know it is also super simple," Derek said.
We all tried the brownies he made.
"These are actually really good," Alan said.
"Thank you. And what do you think?" Derek asked looking at me.
"They are good," I said.
"Good. Do you guys want to take some with you guys on the road?" Derek asked.
"Sure," Alan said.
Derek got us a couple of brownies into a bag and handed them over to us.
"What are you going to do while we are gone?" Alan asked.
"I have no idea maybe just watch some tv. I think it is going to be fun to just lay around before and after work," Derek said with a chuckle.
"I think that sounds like a wonderful time," Alan said.
"Oh it is going to be and maybe invite some of my friends over to hang out with me," Derek said.
"You will never be alone," I said.
"I know," Derek said.
"I wish you would be able to come with us but I know you can't," Alan said.
"I know how many times you have asked me about this whole thing," Derek said.
"I know," Alan said.
Some time passed and me and Alan were heading out on the road. We told Derek goodbye and we were on the road.
"Just us and the road," Alan said.
We were sitting in the car in the driveway.
"We ready to go?" I asked.
"Yes," he said with a smile.
He leaned over and kissed me and I returned the kiss.
"Now we are ready," he said.
"Good," I said with a smile.
We were soon on the road heading for the next town over. We would not be on the road for long but we chose to just take the drive slow.
"I think it is nice to be on the road and just be able to take the drive slow," Alan said with a smile as he drove.
"Me too. And one of these days we can plan a trip a little bit further than this one," I said.
"Oh for sure. We are going to be able to plan so many things as time goes along and it is going to be so much fun," Alan said.
"I love that we are going to be able to have some time away. Not that our lives suck in town but you know," I said with a chuckle.
"Oh of course. Getting away is something everyone needs instead of being stuck in one place," Alan said.
"I think it is cool we get to do these kinds of things. I never thought this would be something I would be doing right now," I said.
"I am so happy you wanted to do this kind of thing with me," Alan said.
"I would do anything with you my love," I said.
"Are you sure you would do anything with me? Like anything?" he asked.
"Yes, anything," I said with a chuckle.
"Mmm we are going to have to test that one of these days," Alan said.
"I think we could but I don't know how you would test something like that," I said.
"I have a couple of ideas but I am not too sure how we would right now," he replied.
"I think it is cool how close we have become," I said with a smile.
"Me too," he replied.
We continued to drive until we eventually reached our destination.
