Chapter 112

- January 15th 1979 -

Y/N's POV

It was now 15 days into the new year. It seemed amazing to be in yet another new year with the love of my life. It's been 7 years me and Alan have been together which seems a little crazy to think about. And I have known Derek for a little bit longer. It is weird to think about how quick time has been going by.

"I just realized we have been together 7 years this year. It does seem a little crazy how long we have been together," Alan said as he looked at me.

"That is true. It has been 7 years which seems a little wild to think about. I never did think twice about how long we have been with one another," I said.

"Oh you do not think about that? I thought it was kind of a normal thing to cross your mind," Alan said.

"Well I do think about it my love but there is so much else going on in our lives it is not the number one thing that is always on my mind. I think it is nice to think about it and how many things we have been through together," I said.

"We have been through quite a lot when it comes to things we have done and seen in life," he said.

Derek walked in the front door and looked at me and Alan.

"Hey guys," Derek said with a smile.

"Hey Derek. How are you doing?" I asked.

"I am doing good and how are you guys doing?" Derek asked.

"We are doing good. So glad you have come by to see us. Is it just you or are the other guys with you?" Alan asked.

"Well Les is going to be coming over soon with me," Derek said.

"Oh that is going to be nice to see him," I said.

"He is fun to hang out with isn't he?" Alan asked.

"Yes," I said.

"He is excited to come by and have fun with us," Derek said.

"What are we going to be doing? Do you have a plan?" Alan asked.

"I thought we would go out skating. Do you think it would be fun?" Derek asked.

"I do think it would be fun for us to have some time to go skating," I said.

"What about the other guys?" Alan asked.

"I think they could come if they would want to but I think they are busy with other things. Eric and Woody are working on a new song," Derek said.

"Oh that sounds like fun. I am currently working on new music too," Alan said.

"I think it is nice how we all are going to have new music coming out around the same time. We could even go on our next tour all together maybe," Derek said.

Les soon walked in the door and he had two skateboards.

"Sometimes I wonder how life is going to end up working out like in the end," I said.

"Hey guys," Les said.

"Hey Les. How are you?" I asked.

"Doing good," Les replied.

"Good to hear," I said.

"Yeah. Are you guys ready to go out skating?" Les asked.

"Yes, we just need to get our skateboards real quick," Alan said as he went to go grab them.

"I think it is nice we get to do things like this all together. I know sometimes we are all so busy we do not always have the time but this is nice," Derek said.

"I know. Also me and Alan were talking about we have been together 7 years  this year. Which means we have been friends for 10 years," I said as I looked at Derek.

"I think it is crazy to think about it that way. You have seen us go through so many changes in our lives and see us grow," Derek said.

"And you have met me once I came into the picture," Les said with a chuckle.

"That is true. Our band has gone through so many changes and it is kind of wild to think about how far we have come with it," Derek said.

Soon Alan came back with the skateboards.

"Are we ready you guys?" Alan asked.

"Yes," Les said.

Soon we headed out the front door and got ready to head out skating.

"I am excited for this," I said.

"Me too. It has been quite some time since we have done this," Alan said.

"I know. I am still not the best at it but it is okay," I said with a chuckle.

"You are not the best? I think you are one of the best. You have picked up quite a few skills over the amount of times we have done this," Derek said.

"Okay maybe but I am still not the best out of us," I said.

"We will see about that," Alan said.

"I think I might be the best out of us but it might not be true either," Les said.

"I think about it sometimes," Alan said.

"Think about what?" Les asked.

I got on my skateboard and started to skate off. Derek followed. We had all put on jackets as well. 

"Wait up guys!" Les shouted out.

Les and Alan began to skate with us.

"I think this is something we should bring back into the things we do more often," Alan said.

"You never did answer what you think about often," Les said.

"Oh well how life has been going you know? We have been through a lot of things recently," Alan said.

Alan and Les had their conversation.

"How have you been doing in life?" Derek asked.

"Doing good. Just taking life each day as it comes," I said.

"Well that makes sense. You can only take it day by day and see how it goes from there," Derek said.

"Yeah, I think it is interesting," I said.

"Yeah," Derek said.

"How have you been doing though?" I asked.

"I have been doing good. Same as you taking life day by day and just seeing how it is going to work out," Derek said.

"I think it is nice even if we do not hang out all the time we still kind of think the same," I said.

"Well of course," Derek said.

"Do we want to go get ice cream guys?" Les asked.

"I think it would be fun if we did," I said.

"Then to get ice cream is where we will go," Alan said.

We headed off to get some ice cream.
