020. VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES, OH MY

Chapter twenty

"Vampires and werewolves, oh my."

The next morning, when Athena had woken up, Stefan was gone, but when she looked at her phone, she saw a text from him telling her that he'd be back later, so she didn't go near Caroline, having made her breakfast, she was eating it as she heard someone knock on the front door "Caroline?" she heard Matt asked, as she put her fork down and walked to the door, she sensed ehr as she turned her head to the right and noticed Caroline, Caroline then stepped back "Caroline!" Matt called out again.

As Athena turned around, walking up to the door, she unlocked it and opened it "hey, Matt." she told him "hey, Athena, um, is Caroline here?" Matt asked her "yeah, she's just resting Matt." Athena told him, as Matt nodded "yeah, but you know Tyler's doing this whole thing at the swimming hole and I know she'd like it and I kind of wanted us to spend the day together." he shared, as Athena's eyes went wide "okay, um, how about you head out there and I'll make sure when she get's up to let her know about it, okay?" she asked him "yeah, thanks Athena." Matt told her, as he turned around walking off, Athena shut the front door, locking it, she leaned against it, letting out a breath.

A few hours later, a knock came to the front door, as Athena walked up to it, she unlocked it and as she opened it Stefan was standing on the other side with Bonnie "hey." Stefan told her, as he walked in, Bonnie followed in after him, as Athena shut and locked the door again, she sighed, turning around "what is she doing here?" she asked, looking at Bonnie "she's here to make her a daylight ring." Stefan shared, as Athena's eyes went wide, Bonnie motioned to her "see." she told Stefan, as Stefan sighed "come on, let's go see Caroline." he told them, turning around and walking, he didn't hear other footsteps following him, as he stopped and turned around, seeing Athena and Bonnie still standing in the doorway.

He sighed, walking back toward's them "I'm not gonna let her hurt either of you." he told them, as Bonnie looked to Athena, Athena stepped forward as Stefan turned around walking toward's Caroline's bedroom, Athena followed him along with Bonnie, and when the three of them walked in there, Caroline was sitting on her bed where the least amount of sun touched "we're gonna make it so you don't have to hide in the dark anymore and can actually go outside." Stefan shared, walking in.

Although Caroline's eyes stayed on Athena and Bonnie who cautiously walked in behind him, in which Stefan turned around looking at them, moving his hand behind Athena, he motioned her to follow him to the right side of Caroline's bed as Bonnie stayed at the edge of it, she reached out and put a ring on the bed, as Caroline grabbed it and inspected it "so, I don't get to choose the ring I have to wear the rest of my life?" she asked "hey, if you don't want it.." Bonnie told her, as she opened her book she brought with her "no. She, she want's it." Stefan shared, holding his arms around Athena, incase she tried to lunge at her sister.

"Now what?" Caroline asked "now's the part where I explain the rules. The witch who spells the ring has the power to de spell it. So if you ever do anything to hurt anyone.." Bonnie shared "I'm not going to hurt anyone." Caroline shared "you're a vampire. Look at your sister? You think all those bite marks weren't meant to hurt her? The urge to kill is part of who you are. The minute you let it take over, I will stop you." Bonnie shared "Bonnie, you're supposed to be my friend." Caroline told her "I can't ignore what happened. Okay, you wanna be friends, you're gonna have to prove that the Caroline I remember isn't gone." Bonnie shared.

As Caroline looked to Athena who was staring at her "now put the ring on the bed." Bonnie told her, as Caroline put it back down in front of her, Bonnie turned around, walking to the window, Caroline looked at her "do you really think I meant to kill that guy at the carnival?" she asked, and when she did, Athena's eyes went wide as she turned to Stefan who sighed "he's still dead. Now do you want me to cast the spell or not?" Bonnie asked Caroline.
