Chapter ninety three

"I saw an angel."

That night, Enzo was driving and while he was he looked over to his right at Athena who was sleeping, although as she did, she jerked in her sleep "Athena?" he asked her

Stefan groaned, as Sloan had her hands on his head, diving into his brain again as the travelers chanted around her "his name is Tom Avery I heard that much." Sloan said, as Stefan groaned again "come on, Stefan! I need your help with the link. Tell me what you see you. Tell me where to find your doppelganger." Sloan shared, as Stefan groaned again "Atlanta metropolitan hospital." Stefan said, gasping for air "good. Now your friends can go kill him." Sloan said.

Jolting awake, Athena sat up, breathing heavy "easy there, love. You were having a nightmare." Enzo shared, as Athena looked at him "I just watched Sloan dive back into Stefan's brain even though I told her not to so now I'm not only really angry but I'm also hungry!" she voiced, kicking her foot into the glove compartment "easy, we're almost there. We'll stop at a diner or something to curve this rage of yours." Enzo shared "no, there is no time for food! We have to go to metropolitan hospital! Because that's where Tom Avery works!" Athena voiced, running her hands through her hair "yes, ma'am." Enzo told her, continuing to drive.

Where Athena and Enzo had gotten there by morning, and as they did, Enzo took a seat while Athena walked up to the front desk "hi, I was in an accident awhile back and I remember the guy who showed up on the seen was named Tom Avery, and I wanted to thank him for saving me. Do you know if he's working today?" she asked "i'm not so sure. But I can call and check for you." the receptionist shared "thank you." Beatrix told her, as she turned around, walking over to Enzo she sat down.

"You got an accident?" Enzo asked her "when I was fourteen, I had jumped over a bridge and swam to the bottom of the ocean to save a man and a women who had become like my parents because they took me from my home when I was six to train me into the weapon I am today and I was only able to save Elena who was in the backseat because when I went back for them, the three of us drowned. And when I woke up the doctors kept saying it was a miracle that I survived and a part of me always knew someone had to have pulled me out of that water and taken me to the hospital. And I always wanted to thank whoever saved me but I never knew who. Until Stefan told me that it was him. And I never exactly thanked him. So I can at least pretend to thank the other version of him." Athena shared.

And as she did, Enzo furrowed her brows "there's more to you then meets the eye." he shared "oh you have no idea." Athena shared, as Enzo handed her a bag of chips "thank you." Athena told him, as she opened them up and began eating them, she furrowed her brows "I get why you decided to deliver the antidote to Damon but other then our fun little short lived road trip what made you decided to come with me? Cause I'm sure it's not to help Stefan." she shared "Damons trying to be a good boy these days, which means I'm in need of a new murder buddy." Enzo shared.

As Athena tilted her head "I'm joking. I joke. British humor." Enzo told her "not funny." Athena told him, eating one of her chips, Enzo grabbed one of the magazines and opened it up "ah. Modern women, all bosom, no mystery," he said, looking to Athena "but the more I hang out with the more mysterious you become." he shared "for the thousandth I have a fiance." Athena informed him, as Enzo threw down the magazine "where's your ring?" he asked her "left it with Stefan because if you haven't noticed I'm Tom Avery's type." Athena informed him.

And when she did, Enzo furrowed his brows "have you realized that if Stefan didn't exist that inevitably with traveler lore, that this paramedic Tom Avery would be the man your supposed to marry instead of the man your supposed to kill?" he asked, and when he did, Athena's eyes went wide, having not thought about that but then she remembered who she was "he wouldn't like me. I'm like a bomb ready to implode. Like yeah, we'd probably have met when I came into the hospital after accident. Went out on a date, fell in love. Lived in the same house together. He'd go to work, I'd go kill vampires. And then we'd come and he'd tell me about his day and I would lie about mine." she shared.
