135. HIDING OUT

Chapter three hundred and five

"Hiding out."

The sound of beeping filled Athena's ears, as she opened her eyes, she was lying in a hospital bed in a dark room, and as she did, she looked down seeing her hair was still jet black, she was in a hospital gown, the door to the room opened, and as it did a nurse walked in "oh good, your awake." she said, shutting the door behind her, Athena furrowed her brows "um, what..what happened?" she asked "according to the medics who brought you in a car slammed into yours." the nurse shared.

And when she did Athena recalled grabbing Athena and jumping out the passenger side window "my..my daughter is she?" she asked her "your daughter isn't awake yet but so far her vital signs are just fine and there's no broken bones according to the medics you took the hardest hit." the nurse shared "motherly intuition." Athena told her, as the nurse smiled "well then your little girl is lucky to have you." she told her, shining a light into her eyes, Athena furrowed her brows "just a quick question. What state are we in?" she asked "your in Memphis Tennessee, ma'am. You should be able to be let out by tomorrow morning." the nurse shared, turning to walk out.

"Can you come tell me when my daughter wakes up?" Athena asked her "of course." the nurse told her, as she went to open the door, she turned to her "is there anyone you would like us to call? A husband? Family member?" she asked, and as she did, Athena remembered stabbing Stefan in the heart with the sword and now that it exploded and she had no idea where he would be or if he was back in Dallas, either way she wasn't there and calling Damon right now wasn't worth it "no. It's just me and her." she shared "okay. I'll come back in with any news about your daughter." the nurse shared, walking out.

And as she did, she headed down the hallway, the sound of an EKG machine rapidly beeping filled her ears, as she ran into the room, Annabeth was lying there as her eyes were wide, she was having a panic attack, because when she had woken up just like the time when she was at the armory her mother wasn't there, the nurse ran up to her "breathe. Breathe, Annabeth." she told her, putting her arms around her, Annabeth shook her head "my..my mother? Where's my mother?" she asked "she's down the hall. I just came back from seeing her, she's okay and so are you. So breathe in." the nurse told her, taking a deep breath.

Annabeth took a deep breath "and breathe out." the nurse told her, as Annabeth breathed out, knowing her mother was her and not only just down the hall but conscious gave her a relief she hadn't felt in a while "your in the hospital. You were in an accident." the nurse informed her, as Annabeth remembered her mother jumping at her and taking them out the car window "she saved me." she said, letting out another breath, the nurse smiled "yeah she did." she told her, looking to the IV "now, I'm gonna go get you another IV just so we can keep track of your vitals for the rest of the night to make sure that both you and your mom are good to go in the morning, okay?" she asked her.

"Okay." Annabeth told her, watching as the nurse turned walking out of the room, she grabbed the door handle and shut it as she left, Annabeth laid back down, letting out a breath "we're okay." she said, looking up at the ceiling.

The next morning, Athena and Annabeth were discharged from the hospital, where as they were, Athena asked how far the nearest diner was and as she did, she was told that there was one right down the street, her and Annabeth walked down to it, where as they walked up the steps of it, Athena noticed the for sale sign on a truck outside, as she held open the diner door for Annabeth, Annabeth walked in, as Athena turned following in behind her, as a waitress met them "two?" she asked "yes and um..how much for the truck outside?" Athena asked, as the waitress began leading them toward's a booth.
