139. THE BLOODLUST TAKES OVER

Chapter one hundred and thirty nine

"The bloodlust takes over."

Damon was carrying both Athena and Annabeth as he ran back to the house "open the door! Open the door!" he yelled, as Caroline opened it "what's wrong?" she asked him, as Damon walked in, Caroline's eyes went wide when she saw Athena and Annabeth knocked out "what happened?" she asked "remember when Athena said, it's not gonna go the way that you think? It didn't go the way that you think!" Damon voiced, as Enzo stood up, walking over to him "what's that supposed to mean?" he asked "it means that as a slayer you don't just hand over you lifespan when you hand over your life your handing over your lifestyle. So now when all three of them wake up. They're gonna be back to rolling heads." Damon shared.

As Alaric walked up "let me help you." he told him, taking Annabeth from his arms, Caroline grabbed Bonnie as she walked over to them "we should put them upstairs." she shared "my room now." Damon told them, turning and walking off, Alaric and Caroline followed him.

Lying them down in bed, Damon had gone downstairs to get a drink, as Caroline was tucking them in "they're better off in here., don't you think?" she asked Alaric, not noticing him put down a bag "it's quieter more peaceful. Did you grab those scented candles?" Caroline asked, as Alaric held chains in his hand "not exactly." he told her, walking over, Caroline stood up "no." she said, walking up to him and taking them "we're not going to do this." she told him "you heard what Damon said when they wake up.." Alaric shared.

"When they wake up, we do not know what they're going to feel. And if we chain them up, we' ve made that decision for them. Trust me, I know." Caroline shared, looking to her sister.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Damon called Stefan as he finally answered him "what do you want Damon?" Stefan asked "do you never check your voicemail? I left you about nine messages." Damon shared "yeah, sorry, I've been a little busy telling Matt Donovan he's the reason his fiance is dead." Stefan shared "ooh. Do I want to know how that went?" Damon asked "probably not. You also probably don't want to know how screwed you are with Athena either." Stefan shared "I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number. Because I dialed H for husband of the vampire slayer. Clocks ticking, brother. You need to get your head in the game." Damon shared.

"My head is in the game, Damon. My life was blown apart the minute that sword went into my wife and daughter's chest. I lost everything and run for years. So as much as I want them to wake up, I'm not exactly looking forward to doing that again." Stefan shared "alright, alright, I get it. You don't have any ideas. I don't either. This conversation just got really depressing." Damon shared "well, I never said I didn't have an idea." Stefan shared, as Damon furrowed his brows.

Where soon Stefan had arrived "Athena has this thing called a bloodlust. It's basically her drive to kill but sometimes people can break through that bloodlust and bring her back to who she really is. But the problem is that Bonnie and Annabeth aren't like here, their brains haven't been wired like her's to know that killing is the only way to live. Which means the two of them are following what she says." he shared "what, so we delve into they're subconscious and pull them out?" Enzo asked "not they'e subconscious. Athena's subconscious. We have to take away her daughters, make her kick em out. Which is exactly why I'm the worst person for the job." Damon shared.

"She's my girl. I'll do it." Enzo shared "no offense but Athena doesn't like you, if you come to take them away, she'll kill you. Which is why it should be me. I'm her sister. She's resisted killing me before. She can do it again." Caroline shared "she's right." Stefan told them.
