038. WE APPEAR TO THOSE WHO NEED US THE MOST

Chapter thirty eight

"We appear to those who need us the most." 

It was a hot night out in Tennessee, even in the dark of the night, the moon didn't bring any shade and neither did the tree's, where beneath the darkness of the woods, a hand shot out from under the ground, going down onto the dirt ground, it dug it's nails into it, pulling themselves out of the ground and as it did, white hair could be seen, as the girl stood up, she felt the heat on her skin, where as she looked down she was completely naked and covered in blood, lifting her head back up, she began looking around her, seeing she was in the middle of the woods, she began walking, having no idea where she was going.

But soon she stumbled out of the woods, and out into the middle of a road, and as she did, lights soon flooded her vision, as she brought her hands up to keep it away from her, the car that was driving toward's her came to a stop "oh my god. Oh my god!" a women yelled as she got out of the passenger seat "Savannah! What are you doing?" the man asked, as he was only halfway out of the drivers seat, as the women put a blanket around Athena that she had in the backseat "sweetie? Can you tell us what happened? Do you know where you are?" she asked her, and as she did, the girl turned and faced her and when she did, it happened to be Athena, very much alive, but when she looked at the women her vision began to become blurry as she fell over.

The women caught her "it's okay, sweetheart, it's okay." she told her, as she began bringing her toward's the car "what are you doing?" her husband asked her "Tom. She's a teenage girl out in the middle of nowhere covered in blood and standing in the middle of the road. We're taking her to the hospital." his wife shared "Savannah, she's probably just pulling a prank, you know kids out here get weird on nights before a full moon." her husband shared "I don't care. We're getting her help." his wife told him, getting into the car still holding Athena in her arms, the man scoffed, as he got into the car himself and began driving off.

Opening her eyes, Athena was staring at a white ceiling, as she sat up, she realized she was no longer in the wood's but a hospital room, as she turned looking at the EKG machine her vitals seemed to be perfect, as memory's began to come back to her, she looked down at her wrists, the scars weren't there but she remembered how she screamed when Klaus cut them open but the only scars that were there were her vampire bites, furrowing her brows, she brought her hands up to her neck, and when she did, recalled how her throat was slit, but when she touched it, there was no scar ".." she went to speak but no words came out, which seemed to be her only remembrance that what she remembered did actually happen.

But then she recalled what happened last, as she pulled the hospital gown down and looked at her chest, there was no scar from where she got stabbed in the heart and killed, letting go of her hospital gown, she then looked up, remembering the lady who found her on the side of the road, she must've taken her here before she passed out, and being in a hospital meant people were gonna ask questions, questions she couldn't answer.

As she turned, she pulled the wire out of her arm and as she did, the EKG she began beeping rapidly, as she took the covers off of her, she climbed out of the bed as her arm was bleeding, she ran toward's the door, and opened it, looking out into the hallway, it was empty, as she stepped out, she turned heading right, and as she did, she saw shadow's coming down the hallway as her eyes went wide, she turned and ran back down the hallway and as she did, she saw a sign that said locker room, as she turned right and headed into it.

Walking up to the lockers, she began opening them and pulling out any clothes she could find, which included underwear, bell bottom jeans, a t shirt and a trucker hat, and some boots, as she turned walking back out of the locker room, she saw three doctors heading down the hallway to her hospital room and as she did, she began heading the way she was going before and ran toward's the the door that said exit, and as she did, it wasn't an exit to the outside but a stairwell, but she took it none the less and began running down it, with only one thing on her mind. Needing to get out of there.
