Chapter fifty

"You are a princess."

After what happened with Stefan, Athena had taken a break from everyone, closing herself off in he room, although in doing so she seemed to miss a lot like Caroline's dad getting attacked by Tyler then getting vampire blood in his system and choosing to die rather then go through with the transition, which seeing as he hated her and her father, the two kept her distance from the whole situation, although the next day, Athena had shown up with her dad to Klaus's mansion yet neither of the two knew why they were there, as her dad held the door open for her, Athena walked inside as he followed her in.

The door shut behind them and as it did, both of them could sense more then a hybrid but four other vampires, making the two apprehensive, until a women came walking down the stairs in front of them "you two can relax, your family isn't going to hurt you." she shared, as Athena and her dad looked up at her "mother? Who let you out?" her dad asked, as the women smiled "your Bennett witch friends." she shared, as Athena turned looking into the room nearby and seeing a bunch of other vampires "and them?" she asked "that would be thanks to Elijah and your friend Damon, they decided to amongst themselves to set the rest of them free from Klaus's daggers." the women shared.

As Athena furrowed her brows and turned to her "and who are you?" she asked, as the women made it to the bottom of the stairs and walked up to her "I'm Esther. But to you, I am grandma." she shared, linking her arm with her's "we have a lot to talk about it." she shared, walking back upstairs, Athena turned around, watching her dad follow after them.

Her grandmother had walked her upstairs and into a room, and as they walked in, her dad shut the door behind them, as he stood by the door, Athena sat down on the couch in the room with her grandmother, her grandmother then sighed as she brought her hands up to her face "you look so much like your father. I've never got to see one of you for myself until now, sorry, if I'm a little over excited, you are royalty after all." she shared, bringing her hands down, Athena furrowed her brows "I'm what?" she asked, as her grandma grabbed, the tea cup off the table in front of them, as she looked to her dad "you didn't tell her?" she asked him.

As Athena looked to him, her dad glared at them "Klaus put me in box her entire life, I've only been here for a few days, in which I haven't told her the other half of her heritage mother." he shared, as her grandma turned to her "well, your father one time in his life had been a king, which seeing as your his daughter makes you, a princess." she shared, and as she did, Athena started laughing "me? A princess! Look at me! I'm not graceful! I'm reckless!" she voiced, as her grandma grabbed her hands "which makes you one of the best. We just need to teach you how to be a bit more poised for the ball tonight." she shared.

As her dad huffed "mother, not a ball." he told her, as her grandma turned to him "yes, Rhaegar, a ball. These people need to know after what Niklaus has done that we owe them no harm and seeing as you are king and she is a princess who both have the means of protecting people from the rest of us, that is why your name is on the invitations. With secret notes to certain individuals." she shared, as she then looked back at Athena "girls!" she voiced, clapping her hands, her dad moved out of the way as the door opened, revealing four girls "yes, Miss Mikaelson? Esther? Queen?" they all asked.

"You deemed yourself queen?" her dad asked her, as her grandma raised her brows "girls, get Athena ready for the ball. The whole princess treatment. We want her to look perfect!" her grandma voiced, as Athena shook her head "I don't need.." she was telling her, as the girls came up to her and pulled her off the couch, and began taking her out of the room, and as they did, her dad looked at his mom, as he crossed his arms "you too. That outfit won't do. You need to wear something more to your title." her grandma shared, as she stood up, waving at him, her dad rolled his eyes, as he turned around walking out.
