Chapter forty two

"My thoughts will echo your name, until I see you again."

That night, Caroline decided that she didn't want to let Athena out of her sight ever again so they went home got changed and now the two of them were at the high school with Tyler, Elena and Bonnie, pulling pranks as they all were setting up mouse traps in the dark, the classroom door soon opened and as all the mouse traps went off, Athena by how her week had been going had taken her sword out of her pocket and spun it, as she stood up holding it out in front of her as the lights came on, it was Matt.

"Athena?" Matt asked, looking at her in shock, Caroline, Tyler, Bonnie and Elena all stood up as well, although Elena being closest to Athena brought her hands up to her's "hey, hey, it's Matt. We're okay." she shared, moving the sword down, Athena nodded as she spun it in her hand, it disappeared as she put it back in her pocket "do you know how long it took for us to set all this up?" Caroline asked "forgot about senior prank night, huh?" Tyler asked "clearly. But also how is she.." Matt asked, motioning to Athena "it's a long story." Elena told them, knowing it was a very emotional subject seeing as last time she told her or at least Damon about it, she started crying.

"Why does it matter? Athena's alive! Which means things are looking up! I mean the rest of us are about to be seniors! These are the memories that'll stay with us forever, and if.." Caroline shared "and if we don't create these memories now then what's the point of it all?" Elena asked "go ahead and make fun, I don't care." Caroline shared, as Athena shook her head "she really doesn't! I mean I told her I was fun like twenty times and she wouldn't leave me alone since the moment I stepped foot back into town." she shared, as Elena laughed, Caroline scoffed "I am so not apologizing for being happy that my little sister isn't dead." she shared.

"She's not wrong." Bonnie added on, as Athena huffed "you're all lame. And I've got ten more classrooms to prank." Tyler shared, grabbing his bag and walking out, Elena linked her arm with Athena's "come on." she told her, as she began walking the two toward's the door "hey, where you two going?" Bonnie asked, as Elena stopped and turned to her "to superglue Alaric's desk shut. i'm making memories and I figured Athena could use a breather from Caroline so I'm taking her with me." she shared, as Caroline gasped, Elena turned around as her and Athena walked out of the classroom.

"I love you both!" Caroline voiced as they made it into the hallway, making Athena and Elena laugh as they then saw Tyler giving three other boys jobs to do "get the faculty toilet seats and Dana need's bodies in the gym. Let's go." he shared as they walked off past Athena and Elena, Athena shook her head "I don't get it." she told her "what high schools to mundane for you?" Elena asked her "after everything I've been through?" Athena asked her, as the two walked down the hallway and through double doors "yeah.." Elena realized, but as the two turned, Elena gasped while Athena's eyes went wide as the two came face to face with Klaus.

"There's my girls." Klaus told them "Klaus." Elena stated, as Klaus smirked at them, Athena went to reach in her pocket for her weapon but Klaus grabbed her wrist "ah!" Athena voiced, as he squeezed it "you two are supposed to be dead. What are we gonna do about that?" Klaus asked, as he grabbed Elena with his other hand, he began dragging the two of them down the hallway.

"The whole point of breaking the curse and becoming a hybrid was to make more hybrids. I haven't been able to do that. Now my bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you two are still breathing." Klaus shared, as Athena turned to him "sounds like a you problem! But if you don't mind if your gonna kill us can we cut the chit that?" she asked him "not until I know I'm right. But I do have ways of making you two suffer but you already know that Athena." Klaus shared, as he spun around, backing into the gym door, he pulled Elena and Athena in with him.
