099. I'VE WAITED A HUNDRED YEARS BUT I'D WAIT A MILLION MORE FOR YOU

"I've waited a hundred years but I'd wait a million more for you."

And just like Stefan told her, the next day, Caroline wasn't exactly happy that her sister's wedding wasn't som extravagant event she got to plan and that she didn't get to be the maid of honor and that her, Bonnie and Elena didn't get to wear the maid of honor dresses and Athena didn't get to wear an actual wedding dress or vail that she liked so she settled for at least making the woods that the two decided to get married in fit for a wedding, where she had put Jermey, Matt, Tyler and Elena to work even though Elena and Jermey were complete wrecks over losing Bonnie and Damon, she forced them to be happy because this was not a wedding day, this was the wedding day.

Meanwhile, Athena was standing with her mother as she was pacing "I can't do this. I mean I know I said yes to marrying him but everyone including Stefan is a wreck from everything that just happened and I can't be the reason he pushes through his grief of not only losing his brother but his best friend in the same night all because he wants to marry me!" she voiced, throwing her arms out, she stopped and looked to her "and I..I can't wear this dress! It has psycho Silas all over it! I mean when I woke up on that creepy island this is exactly what I was wearing! I can't marry him in this!" she voiced, laughing "this is a disaster." she told her, continuing to pace.

"Well, I'm not exactly a fashion expert like Caroline is but I did find something." her mom shared, stepping toward's her with a box "and I also got Stefan a suit. Because he is one for tradition seeing as he asked me if he could marry you, I wasn't about to let that go out the window because your supernatural existences made it impossible." she shared, as Athena laughed, feeling like she was gonna cry.

Having changed, the new white dress had long sleeves and it cascaded down onto the floor, where Athena kept feeling like she was gonna trip in the heels Caroline had made her wear, as she had a veil on her head, she took a deep breath, Alaric walked up to her "you know when someone get's brought back to life being asked to walk someone down the aisle isn't usually the first thing you expect to be asked." he shared, and when he did, Athena chuckled "I honestly didn't want any of this. Damon should be here.." she shared, looking around them "your father should be here." Alaric told her.

And when he did, Athena looked back at him "and seeing as I am the one who killed him that is exactly why I am doing this." Alaric shared "you've gotta stop blaming yourself." Athena told him "then you've gotta stop acting like this day isn't the best day of your life. Your getting married. Hell your getting out of mystic falls and probably never gonna look back! Damon wants this to happen, he told me so when I met up with him on the other side, he said whether this thing works you and Stefan are getting married. And as his best friend I'm not about to let that not happen because the girl who's able to fight supernatural creatures and has died about a thousand times is getting cold feet." Alaric shared.

As Athena let out a shaky breath, looking back in front of them, Alaric linked his arm with her's, as the two began walking, where soon they found the others, where Caroline had put flowers all over, where she stood next to Bonnie, Elena and her mother on the left side while on the right stood Jermey, Matt and Tyler yet Athena's eyes went right to Stefan and when she saw him smile at her, all of her fears leading up to this moment vanished.

Making it up to him, Alaric then handed her over to him, where Caroline had even managed to compel a wedding efficient seeing as the marriage was in such short notice "ladies and gentleman, we are gathered here on this glorious day to witness the union of Stefan Salvatore and Athena Forbes." the officiant shared, looking to Stefan "please repeat after me. I Stefan Salvatore." he said "I Stefan Salvatore." Stefan said as he looked into her eyes "take you Athena Forbes." the officiant said "take you Athena Forbes." Stefan said "to have and to hold." the officiant said "to have and to hold." Stefan said.
