Chapter one hundred and six

"My brave girl."

The next morning, Athena was with Stefan, Enzo and Matt in the place Tripp had held Enzo captive, where Tripp was now tied up "hello again. That was quite a mess you made at the border last night. Hit and run. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Good thing Matt here was in the neighborhood to give you a ride home." Enzo shared, stepping out of the way, revealing Matt to Tripp "you brought me here?" he asked "you went after my friends. What'd you expect?" Matt asked "your friends who kill people." Tripp shared "come on, Enzo. Ask him what you want to know. Let's get this over with." Stefan shared.

"Stefan has already made a very passionate argument in favor of snapping your neck, where as in a surprising role reversal, I've decided to go with what the slayer wants to do and get all the information before we kill you method." Enzo shared "don't be a dick. You know, you can dry the vervain out of him compel him to forget everything, he'll never set foot in mystic falls again." Matt shared, as Athena stepped forward "and that's your problem people like him don't work alone." she shared, pulling the knife out of her pocket and holding it up to his neck as she raised her brows "like his friends who were waiting outside the door to shot Damon. Or the one's who went to Savannah and found my number from my friend." she shared.

Turning to Matt "all wearing the same uniform you've been strutting around in pretending like you're keeping the town safe." she shared, turning back to Tripp "so I'd like to know if your here where are those guys right now, exactly?" she asked, as Tripp didn't answer her, Athena looked down at his hand, handing the knife to Enzo, Athena grabbed his hand and bent his fingers backwards, as Tripp screamed "they're doing the same thing they were when they were with me. They're tracking vampires like your sister Caroline Forbes." he shared.

And when he did, Athena furrowed her brows "well, that's not enough for me. Seeing as you still haven't given us any names or what they could know. So that's a couple hours of torture and between me and Enzo here we sure know how to make you feel any pain imaginable. So think of Matt here more as the reminded to not kill you." she shared, turning to Stefan "and you are gonna go check on Caroline." she told him, as she began walking out "and where are you going?" Matt asked her "to get a gun!" Athena voiced, walking out.

Having come back, Athena had found a gun and had a to go cup in her hand filled with blood, as Enzo had stabbed Tripp in the chest, Matt looked away "progress?" Athena asked "other then enjoying the torture, he hasn't really given much." Enzo shared, as Athena put her gun down "founding families are known for this secrets in their town." she shared, taking one last sip of her blood "let me take over." she told him, as Enzo stepped back, Athena stepped forward and as she did, Tripp looked at her "the slayer not only is friends with vampires but is married to one. How messed up is that?" he asked.

"Well, let's just say there's not exactly a lot of guys lining up for a girl who can kick their ass." Athena shared, pulling the knife out that Enzo had dug into him, Tripp groaned "Athena!" Matt voiced, and as he did, Athena's phone vibrated before she could do anything else, as she pulled her phone out of her pocket, she answered it without checking the caller ID "hello?" she asked "my brave girl." her mom said and when she did, Athena's eyes went wide, knowing she only used that when something was wrong "yes?" she asked her.

"Remember that big adventure you went on when you were six? How about you remind me of what you learned, okay?" her mom asked her "okay. I'll see you soon." Athena said, hanging up and as she did, Matt furrowed his brows "what was that about?" he asked, as Athena lunged at Tripp shoving her hand in his chest "my mother! You kidnapped my mother!" she voiced "Athena!" Matt voiced, as Athena's phone started ringing Enzo walked toward's it and answered it "she's a little busy at the moment." he shared "busy?" Caroline asked "well, your mother called, some talk about a big adventure when she was six. She told her she'd see her soon now her hand is in his chest cavity." Enzo shared.

"Just make sure she doesn't kill him, ok? So just keep your hands off of him so i can get her back." Caroline shared, as Athena pulled her hand out of his chest cavity "Enzo, please." Caroline told him, as Athena spun her knife in her hand, and stabbed him in the leg with it "ah!" Tripp voiced "Enzo!" Caroline voiced, as Enzo hung up "why would you kidnap my mother?" Athena asked him "it's a contingency plan if anything ever happened to me." Tripp shared 'oh! Well something's gonna happen to you alright!" Athena voiced, as Matt stepped toward's her "Athena.." he told her.

"You can set the meet for the edge of town of old miller road. You can do the trade there. They know they'll be safe behind the border. And send Matt. They trust him." Tripp shared, as Matt nodded, Athena turned to Enzo, the two gave each other a look which Matt completely missed.

That night Matt had left to set up the meeting, as Athena unchained Tripp, Enzo grabbed him and was pulling him out of the room, as Athena grabbed her gun and her to go cup and began walking out after him, where the two met Stefan and Caroline "what'd you two do to him?" Caroline asked "doesn't matter. Just get him in the car." Athena shared "just a little blood loss." Enzo shared, as Caroline looked to Athena "that's not what this is!" Athena voiced, holding her cup up "I think he may have an iron deficiency problem." Enzo shared.

As Athena rolled her eyes "Stefan?" she asked, motioning to Tripp, Stefan walked forward grabbing him and taking him to the backseat, Athena walked after him, as Caroline glared at Enzo and turned following after the two "tell your mum I send my best." Enzo shared, as they all got in the car.

Making it to the border, Caroline, Athena and Stefan waited as the other car drove up on the other side "there here." Stefan shared, walking toward's the backseat, he pulled Tripp out, and as he did, Matt and one of his friends got out, although his friend had a hand gun on him as he walked to the back, pulling their mom out of the backseat, she had an injury on the right side of her head "mom?" Caroline asked, walking forward "Caroline, stopQ The border." Matt reminded her, as Athena walked back, leaning into the backseat of the car, she grabbed her gun "you're bleeding? What'd you do to her?" Caroline asked.

"I'm fine." their mom said "ok. Let's do this. Let her go, and you can have him." Matt shared "Tripp first." the man said as he aimed a gun at their mom's head "says the man with a gun aimed at my mother's head." Athena shared "sweetheart, it's ok. Stefan, let Tripp go." their mom said, as Stefan shoved him forward "ok. He's across. Now let her go." Caroline shared, as the man handed their mom over, their mom looked to Athena, as Tripp started grunting "are you ok?" Matt asked "what's happening to me?" Tripp asked, as his throat slit and he began choking on his own blood.

"Oh, my god." Caroline said, as Athena stepped around Stefan, the other guy began running off and as he did, Athena brought up her gun and shot him, as his body fell down onto the ground, Matt turned and looked at her "what the hell did you do?" he asked "when you left, I slit his throat and had Enzo turn him into a vampire. Did you really think I was gonna let a man like that live!" Athena voiced, as her mom walked up to her "hey, hey, it's okay. Come on." she told her, turning her around and walking her to the car, Stefan and Caroline followed them.

Where they all then took their mom to the hospital "this is totally unnecessary." their mom shared "you hit your head, you can have a concussion. And I know better then to trust that you're going to take yourself for a check up back home." Caroline shared, turning to Athena and Stefan "you two can go now. We're fine." she told them "sweetheart, can you at least check and see how long the waits gonna be?" their mom asked her "gladly." Caroline told her, turning around and walking out.

And when she did, her mom looked at Athena then looked to Stefan "I guess the person who lives behind a magical barrier would be the last one to know she's having a grandchild." she shared, smiling, Stefan raised his brows, Athena shook her head "mom since we found out things have just been.." she shared "different? I mean when I was pregnant with you, you think things were easy?" her mom asked, as Athena chuckled so did Stefan, but before they could say anything else, the doctor walked in, as Athena and Stefan turned around, walking out.

Athena then felt dizzy "whoa." Stefan told her, as he caught her, steadying her "you okay?" he asked "yeah, I think it's just been a long day." Athena shared, as Caroline looked at her worried "you sure?" she asked her "yeah." Athena told him, walking off, Stefan followed after her.
