070. OUT OF THE WOODS

Chapter seventy

"Out of the woods."

Lying on the ground in the woods, Athena's eyes were closed, as her hands were lying on her chest, her outfit had been changed as she was wearing a white dress, her bite was healed and so was her wrist, as the blood was washed off of her, as her eyes soon opened, she was staring up at the sky, birds were flying around, as she sat up, she saw that leaves were in her hair as she brought her hand up and began brushing them out, she then noticed her outfit, as she stood up, looking all around her, she realized, she was still on the island, as memories came flooding back to her of what happened.

Where Jermey fed her to Silas, she first brought her hand to her wrist, and then she remembered the feeling of him biting into her neck and brought her hand up to her neck "Athena." she heard Stefan say, as she spun around, and when she looked at him, he looked exactly like Stefan, but something in her, knew it wasn't him "Silas. You..you killed me.." she said, stepping away from him, but as she did, Silas stepped toward's her "after you fed me your blood Athena, I heard you, begging for that hunter, Jermey?" he asked, raising his brows .

"To let you go! To not kill you! And he didn't listen did he? Because that's what they were made for! They were made so that they would use you against me so even if I had you back in my life from the moment I woke up, they would take you away from me again and jam that cure down my throat! But that's not what happened!" he voiced, chuckling, Athena watched him as he stalked toward's her "the moment I bit into your neck and you screamed, all I wanted to do was make sure you were safe but i couldn't do that until I drank all of your blood. And then..and then when I got up and I saw you, dead. All I wanted to do was kill them for you, Athena." Silas shared.

As Athena backed herself into a tree, Silas stood in front of her, putting his arms around her, he caged her in, looking down at her, Athena looked up at him "and then all I wanted to do was get you out of there but then..but then Bonnie was there, too." Silas shared "Bonnie? Where..where's Bonnie?" Athena asked, looking left and right "Bonnie's fine. Bonnie's just sleeping off a head injury. She's safe. I couldn't let you die so I fed you my blood to help heal you and then I cleaned the blood off of you, changed your clothes." Silas shared, as Athena wouldn't look at him anymore.

Silas brought his left hand down and put it under her chin, making her turn and look at him "Athena, I'm not gonna hurt you. I would never hurt you. Which is why now that your awake, I need to get you and me off this island now." he shared, as he stepped away from her, he held his hand out to her, as Athena looked from him and down at his hand "don't you trust me?" Silas asked her, and when he did, Athena found herself reaching her hand out to him, as Silas turned around, and began walking off through the woods, Athena followed him, not knowing exactly why she trusted him.

Running through the woods, Athena was by herself now as she moved through the tree's, she didn't really know what direction she was going cause this entire place looked exactly the same but she knew Silas would lead her in a direction to get her out of there, so she just kept going, and soon she made it out of the woods and into a clearing, and as she did, Damon and Bonnie who were to the left of her, turned and looked at her, as Bonnie let out a breath she was holding in "Athena?" she asked.

And as she did, Athena turned and looked at them and when she did, Damon began walking toward's her, and as he did, he pulled her into his arms "you always show up when I need you the most, don't you?" he asked her, letting out a breath he was holding in, knowing he found the two things he was looking for, but unlike Bonnie, Athena meant so much especially for this brother who would've fell apart without her.

And on the boat ride and the plane ride Athena had fallen asleep, as Damon laid her down in the backseat, he had placed her hands across her chest, although he was starting to miss her, seeing as Bonnie had been talking like a crazy person the entire way back, as he was driving down the street to Elena's house, he drove up to it and parked behind Caroline's car as she was standing on the front lawn on the phone, Bonnie got out and as she did, Caroline sighed "oh! Thank god! Is.." she was saying, as she looked at her sister in the backseat, her eyes went wide "is she dead?" she asked.

As Damon got out of the car "sleeping. Best not to wake her." he shared, as he shut the car door, walking around it, he watched as Bonnie and Caroline hugged "can you get Stefan out here?" he asked Caroline, as Caroline pulled away from Bonnie "yeah, yeah, he'll um, he'll want to see her. But they said that she knows what to do." she shared "Caroline..I need to talk to my brother." Damon told her "what's wrong?" Caroline asked, as Damon looked down at Bonnie, Caroline looked at her but then to her sister, wondering if he was just lying to her about her being asleep, as she turned walking toward's the house, Bonnie followed after her.

Turning back around to his car, Damon looked inside of it, seeing that Athena was still asleep, he heard the door slam behind him and someone run up to him "where is she?" Stefan asked, as Damon turned to him, he stopped him "sleeping. But we got a bigger problem on our hands then that." he shared "Damon, just let me see her." Stefan told him "Bonnie's out of her mind, Stefan. The nutty professor has got her totally brainwashed." Damon shared, as Stefan furrowed his brows "I mean, the whole flight back home all she could talk about was how she's the one that can drop the vail between this side and the other side." Damon shared.

"Drop the vail? What does that even mean?" Stefan asked him "what it means is the myth about Silas being able to raise the dead is not just one or some. It's every supernatural being over there. Three massacres, three hotspots, and the witch spell of the century every supernatural being over there is back with a vengeance. And when I told Bonnie that, that's not what Athena need's right now, she wouldn't stop going on and on about how Silas won't hurt her, and how he wants to keep her safe." Damon shared.

But before the two could say anything else, they heard the phone inside the house start ringing, as Stefan turned around, Damon put his hand on his shoulder "I got it for now." he told him, walking around him, he headed up to the house, as he turned back to his brother "you better not wake her up. Last thing we need right now is another crazy conversation about Silas." he shared, turning back toward's the house, Stefan looked at Athena and as he did, he walked toward's the car and opened the passenger side door, as he climbed inside, he looked at her, seeing that her hair was no longer in a braid, she had a white dress on, as he reached his hand out to her.

"Athena, I need to see Athena, she'll understand me!" Bonnie voiced "whoa, whoa, Bonnie! Damon said not to wake her up! I'm supposed to take you and her home!" Matt voiced, and as he did, Stefan reached both of his arms out and grabbed Athena, pulling her out from the back of Damon's car, he backed out of it and turned around, and as he did, Matt was standing there "i got her." he shared, holding his arms out "no, I can take her home." Stefan told him "Damon said it would be best if I did, he said he needs help with Elena." Matt shared, and as Stefan looked down at Athena, he didn't wanna let her go, as he looked back up, he handed her over to Matt "yeah. Okay." he told him, as he stepped around him and Bonnie.

"Give her to me, Matt!" Bonnie voiced, as Matt moved away from her "no, Bonnie, your acting crazy! Athena's been through enough! And now I'm taking you and her home!" he yelled as he turned walking toward's his truck.

Having gotten to Athena's house, Matt had walked inside as he held Athena in his arms, he kicked the front door closed behind him, as he walked through the hallway, he headed past Caroline's room and down to Athena's, the door was opened as he walked inside, her bed was still unmade from the last time she slept in it, as he laid her down, he put the covers over her, and turned walking out, and as he did, he shut the door behind him.

And when he did, the window to her room opened, as someone climbed through it, they turned around and closed it behind them, locking it, he turned around and walked toward's her bedroom door, locking it as well, he turned around and walked toward's her bed, climbing into bed next to her, he put his around her, and it looked like Stefan, but it was actually Silas, where as she was back with him, he began closing his eyes and falling asleep next to her.
