119. A RED WEDDING

Chapter one hundred and nineteen

"A red wedding."

Running through the woods, Athena had blood all over her as she was wearing a light purple dress, as she soon came to a stop by a tree, putting Annabeth down on the ground, she grabbed a bag opening it up, she pulled out other clothes, as she put her jeans on, she then took the dress off and put her long sleeve black shirt on, she then replaced her heels with a pair of boots, as she then leaned down pulling the gun out of the bag, she put a bullet in the chamber, as she turned looking back the way she came and began running off.

And because of that dream and the threat that Stefan said his mother put on them, she didn't tell him about it, especially since Stefan was very strong minded on bringing Damon to a house to show him what it's like to live a human lifestyle once he takes the cure, being upstairs in her room, Athena grabbed a bag, putting her gun into it, she began shoving those same clothes she saw in her dream into it, although the only problem was getting it past everyone without them questioning it, as she put it around her, she turned walking to the crib and grabbing Annabeth, she turned walking downstairs.

She was looking left and right not seeing Elena or Bonnie or Jo, she was already wearing her maid of honor dress and as she thought she was home free, Matt walked in front of her "Athena, hey.." he told her, as Athena stepped toward's him "why are you here?" she asked him "um, Caroline suggested in a semi threatening way that I pick up the centerpieces," Matt shared, as Athena's eyes went wide "Caroline's here?" she asked, as Matt's eyes went wide "oh, you didn't know she was back?" he asked her, as he looked at her bag but noticed she and Annabeth were already dressed for the wedding "come with me. I'm sure it'll be a Donovan screw up if you don't." he shared, as he turned around walking off, Athena followed him.

Making it to the store to pick up the centerpieces, Matt was out putting more in the back of his truck as he looked to the backseat seeing Annabeth in her carrier, starting at him, Athena walked out with another center piece "here you go." she told him, as Matt took it from her "so you gonna tell me what's going on?" he asked, as Athena took a deep breath "I didn't wanna freak anybody out so I was sneaking around the house trying to leave before they could catch me but I had a dream last night, where it was just me in this very dress running in the woods and I was covered in blood. And I stopped by a tree and changed my clothes found my gun and ran back in the direction I came from. And it's rare that it's ever just me, normally it's other people or even Stefan but it was just me." she shared.

As Matt furrowed his brows "and seeing as my dreams are never wrong, I didn't tell Stefan because I don't know enough to say that he or Annabeth or anyone at that wedding tonight will be fine. So I need you to keep this to yourself." Athena shared, as Matt nodded "you have my word." he told her, as Athena walked around him and got into the passenger side of the truck, Matt looked to the trunk, seeing his bag that he had at the ready anytime a situation like this happened, knowing he wasn't gonna let her do this on her own, as he walked around to the drivers side.

Making it to the wedding, Athena had her bag in the woods, as she was holding Annabeth in her arms acting like everything was normal, she noticed her sister walking in her direction and as she did, Athena turned around walking away from her and as she did, Caroline also turned around and walked away from her.

Where back at the Salvatore house, Matt had a crossbow in his hand as he walked with Bonnie "so Athena told you not to tell anyone about this and you told me?" Bonnie asked "Athena has saved my life more times then I can count. If knocking out Lily and dragging her ass to the boiler room helps her out then being a few minutes late to the wedding isn't gonna be a problem." Matt shared, as they headed down into the basement, Matt held the crossbow up but the door to the cell was open "Bonnie." he said, as Bonnie walked in front of him, seeing she was gone "Enzo must've let her out. I have to warn everyone." she shared, pulling out her phone.

Matt felt like his throat was tightening as he gasped, Bonnie turned to him "Matt?" she asked, as Matt dropped the crossbow "Matt, what's wrong?" Bonnie asked "I can't breathe. It's like someone crushing my throat." Matt shared "ok. Just hang on, I'll.." Bonnie told him, as Matt fell over, Bonnie felt the same thing happening to her as she fell over.

At the wedding, Athena was holding Annabeth in her arms "I love you. I love you." she told her, as Annabeth giggled, Athena laughed back, but she stopped feeling eyes on her, she turned seeing Caroline and when she did, Caroline turned to leave "can you stop?" Athena asked her, as Caroline turned to her "stop what?" she asked her "pretending like you don't wanna come over and talk to me?" Athena asked her "I'm not doing that. I'm trying to organize this whole circus here. I mean, did you see where they put the bar?" Caroline asked her "enough. Let's talk." Athena told her, as she turned walking off, Caroline walked after her.

The two were then sitting away from everyone else, neither one of them spoke "I know you probably don't wanna hear this but I'm sorry. Sorry for trying to kill your baby. Sorry for forcing you into bloodlust. Sorry for forcing your husband to turn off his humanity. You hate me. I see it on your face just like the night at the carnival when you wanted to kill me." Caroline shared "Caroline we have been on two different sides since the day we were born. The only reason we even got close was because you weren't given a choice to become a part of this life. And I knew that when mom died that our relationship would be destroyed. I mean she was the only thing that kept us together." Athena shared.

"Where I told Stefan the day of her funeral that you'd come after us. And you did. Where the only reason I got through it all was because I used what my mama taught me to keep not only myself but my family alive. So yes..I hate you. Because you took everything that scared me and put it in one." she shared, her voice breaking "so unlike everyone else, I can't and will not forgive you." she added on, standing up and walking off, and as she turned the corner, Stefan was standing there "Athena.." he told her, as Athena held Annabeth out to him "can..can you.." she told him, s Stefan took her "Athena.." he told her "I just need a minute." Athena told him, walking off.

When night fell, the wedding had started, as Athena was sitting next to Stefan who was holding Annabeth, Alaric was standing at the alter by himself but as he did, Elena and Damon soon came walking down the aisle, where Damon stepped up behind Alaric while Elena stood on the right side, Jo then began walking down the aisle with her father, where he handed her over to Alaric "welcome, family and friends on this magical evening to the wedding of Alaric Saltzman and Josette Laughlin. Josette and Alaric have prepared their own vows." the female reverend shared, as Jo turned handing Elena her boutique, as she turned back to Alaric.

"Neither one of u shoulder be here right now. We've spent our lives dodging fate and beating the odds, but because we did, I got to meet you," Alaric shared, and as he did, Stefan looked to Athena "the most beautiful, hilarious and intimidatingly brilliant woman I have ever known. You inspire me. You've shown me that happiness is actually something that I can have in my life. And so..I promise to be with you and love you and to dodge fate with you for the rest of our lives." Alaric shared, putting the ring on Jo's finger "Josette?" the female reverend asked "oh, god. That's a tough act to follow. Here goes. Alaric Saltzman, you are.." Jo said.

As her body jolted like she had been stabbed "Jo? What is it? Oh my god!" Alaric voiced, as Athena looked to Stefan "I love you." she told him, as Stefan furrowed his brows "what? Why would you.." he went to ask her, but then his eyes went wide "you knew.." he realized "not this. I was by myself. And there was blood and I was in the woods and I should've told you.." Athena shared "aah!" Jo screamed in pain "but you were so worry about Damon and your mom..I didn't wanna scare you Stefan." Athena told him "no, no, no. Athena, it's okay." Stefan told her, as a ringing filled their ears, everyone screamed, as the glass shattered, everyone then went flying back, as the chandelier crashed to the ground.
