Chapter one hundred and twenty eight

"Anniversary party crashers."

Three years from now, Damon was chained up as he gained consciousness, he groaned "where am I?"  he questioned, as a bright light was shining in his face, he remembered "that's right, Dallas. The home of big hair and horrible presidents." he shared "what was your plan when you walked in here? Cause I don't think it involved being chained up. You probably thought you were gonna come in here and take me down didn't you?" a women asked "oh, so, the mystery guest makes an appearance. Why don't you do me a favor? And come a little closer to I can figure out which on you are exactly." Damon shared.

As the women walked up, Damon's eyes went wide "mom?" he asked, as Lily Salvatore looked back at him "it's been a long time." Damon told her as his eyes closed and he passed out again.

The next morning, Valerie, Athena and Annabeth sat in the office with Damon, Stefan and Enzo going over the plan "what's the plan?" Damon asked "Julian needs to die today. Everything has to appear to be normal. Julian's not an idiot. If he finds out that Lily turned on him, we're all dead." Stefan shared "so you embed her with a psychopath. Sounds logical." Enzo shared "don't look at me. I voted to drive a stake through her heart and get rid of this Julian mama drama once and for all. But, hey, complicated plan A sounds like a happy compromise." Damon shared.

"It's not complicated. We get Julian's blood, and then, Nora, Beau, or Mary Louise use it to unlink him from Lily, and we kill the bastard." Stefan shared "uh, you glossed over the important bit. Do you really think that Beau, Mary Louise, and Nora are going to help?" Enzo asked "that's when we come in." Valerie shared, as Enzo looked to the three of them "I know how to win them over to our side." Valerie shared "uh, great, yeah. Last I checked, she was the black sheep of the family. What are you gonna tell them to make them feel otherwise?" Enzo asked, as Athena took a deep breath "the truth." she said, as Enzo furrowed his brows.

Later on, they all were waiting to put their plan into action "guys, Lily just texted me their location. Let's do this." Stefan shared, as Athena picked Annabeth up from the kitchen table she began walking out, as Valerie followed her, Stefan opened the front door, as Caroline was standing there "oh. Hi." Stefan told her "hi." Caroline said, looking at Athena "your going somewhere?" she asked "yeah, Nora and Mary Louise's anniversary." Valerie shared, as Caroline looked from her to Athena "look, Caroline we really have to go." Athena shared "okay! Then I'll come back another time then." Caroline shared, turning around and walking off, Stefan headed out the door and as he did, Athena followed behind him with Annabeth along with Valerie, as Damon headed down the stairs and followed them out.

Having gotten there, Athena was holding Annabeth as she followed Valerie around as the three of them tried to find Mary Louise and Nora, they found the two outside rather then inside at the party, where they caught the end of a proposal as the two were kissing each other "I'm happy for you two." Valerie told them, as Mary Louise and Nora looked to them "what are you doing here, besides destroying the greatest moment of my life?" Mary Louise asked "we need to talk. About the worst moment of mine." Valerie shared, looking down at Athena and Annabeth.

Night had come as they were standing in the green house, Beau was there as well "this is so typical. Nora and I have one night a year, and Valerie can't stop herself from trying to steal the spotlight." Mary Louise shared "this isn't about me. It's about our family." Valerie shared, as Lily walked in "hold on. Where's Julian? We should wait for him." Nora shared "Julian won't be joining us." Lily shared "I know you guys don't trust me, let alone like me. But Stefan's journal Nora that you gave me from 1863, Valerie wasn't obsessed with it because she liked Stefan. She was obsessed with it because it reminded her of the night she found a version of me lying dead on the street thanks to Julian." Athena shared.
