-I have a confession., said Kent.
-What is it?, wondered Beatrice.
-Your mother had an...an affair with Mr. Duretti. Sexual affair., confessed the man.
Beatrice froze at this.
-What do you mean?, frowned Beatrice, wanting to hear the whole thing.
-I once found Mr. Duretti and your mother walking out of their private room. Your father was on a trip and you were at school. She threatened to fire me and send me to prison if I were to say anything to anyone. I suppose she can not longer do that so I have decided to come clean., elaborated Kent as he didn't look away from Beatrice.
-When was this?, asked the brunette, feeling her anger boiling up inside.
-Uh. Last year, right before Christmas break., explained the security guard.
Beatrice raised her eyebrows, nodding and clearing her throat.
-Thank you for telling me. Now, go back to your jobs. I will take care of things., replied Beatrice as she walked to the dinner room.
She walked in, not saying a word, simply sitting down next to Ava, grabbing a pancake and cutting it in multiple pieces without eating them. She felt someone poke her arm and looked next to her, realizing that everyone was looking at her with a concerned look.
-What?, sighed Beatrice.
-Did something happen?, asked Camila with a frown.
-My identity got revealed, my dad died, my girlfriend was kidnapped, my parental figure is a fraud, my godfather is a criminal mastermind, I got physically assaulted and tortured by him as well, my ex used me for sex and blackmailed me for months, my mother is a traitor and a cheater, I am completely alone and I'm most likely going to have to step up to the fucking throne soon, with no fucking clue on what the fuck I will have to do to keep this goddamn country running like my liar of a father did. That's what happened., said Beatrice, finally shoving a piece in her mouth.
The table went quiet, not sure how they should respond to all of that. Ava placed her hand on Beatrice's, looking up at her.
-I'm sorry about your father, Bea. And about your mother's business. And Sarah. And Duretti. But you got one thing wrong. You're not alone. We might not be your family by blood but we sure as hell are your found family. We will figure things out together with time, okay? For now, you need to focus on your recovery. Mary and Shannon will organize your father's private funeral. Cam and Lilith will keep an eye on the staff and the security of this place. My mom is looking into your power as the new leader. Dora will arrange a conference for you so you can publicly speak to the population, but only when you feel ready. My uncle is investigating Duretti and your mother. And me, I'm here to keep you sane. My only job is to love you and remind you, however often you might need it, that you are not alone. So, breathe for me and let us take care of you for once., said Ava soothingly, stopping Beatrice from spiraling any further.
Beatrice just looked at her, unsure of the whole thing, before looking around the table at each of her friends, giving her reassuring smiles and nods to confirm their support. Beatrice took a deep breath and looked back at her girlfriend, nodding with her exhausted expression.
-Yeah?, smiled the younger brunette.
-Yeah. Okay. But, I want to still...do something. Anything. I hate feeling useless., explained Beatrice, taking a piece of her pancake in her mouth.
-Well, how about we just go from one project to the other, to ensure that everything is going the way you want it to be going. Sounds good?, suggested Ava, holding Beatrice's hand.
-Sounds good., nodded Beatrice after swallowing the pancake.
-Good. Alright everyone, get to work., said the younger girl as she looked at her friends who immediately got up and went separate ways to fulfill their tasks.
She then turned her focus on her girlfriend, moving Beatrice's hand up to her lips, pecking it.
-I got you., smiled Ava softly.
-I love you., replied Beatrice, just looking at her girlfriend and feeling herself tear up at how much she appreciate everything Ava has been doing for her.
-I love you too. So much. But no more handling things alone. And no more pushing us away. Okay?, said the younger girl with a genuine smile.
-Yeah. I've learned my lesson. Ava?, answered Beatrice, getting shy as she said her girlfriend's name.
-Yes, Bea?, chuckled Ava, unsure what Beatrice had in mind.
-This morning...you uhm, you called me something., started the older brunette, clearing her throat and looking at her pancake.
-My princess?, wondered Ava with a little smirk.
Beatrice coughed on a piece of pancake that she was chewing on, shaking her head as she tried not to choke on. Once she swallowed it, she looked at Ava.
-No- No. You never used any nicknames on me before this morning., elaborated Beatrice, trying to ignore the fact that she was obviously and visibly panicking.
-Babe?, replied Ava, smiling as Beatrice froze for a second and nodded shyly. -Yeah. That., nodded the older brunette.
-I wasn't sure how you felt about nicknames so I started off with Bea and wanted to slowly sneak in more soft nicknames., admitted Ava.
-I like it., confessed Beatrice quickly, not wanting Ava to feel like she was trying to ask her not to call her that again.
-Yeah? Good. Me too. You know what else I liked?, asked the younger girl as she moved her hand to lay on Beatrice's thigh.
Beatrice's eyes went wide, slapping Ava's hand away with a giggle.
-I am eating!, complained Beatrice.
-Yeah well, so was I this morning!, replied Ava as she laughed.
-Unbelievable. Have some self control, my love., chuckled Beatrice, shaking her head in disbelief.
-How? When all I can think about is the way you were looking at me while I was-, started Ava.
-Dora! Yes, what's up?, said Beatrice, getting up from her seat when Dora walked in.
Ava held her laughter back, watching her girlfriend's flushed cheeks as she talked to Dora.
-Vincent would like to talk to you., informed Dora, smiling a little when she caught Ava's face as she clearly was trying to not burst out laughing.
-Yup! Okay! Let's uhm, let's do that., nodded Beatrice as she walked up to Dora. Ava got up as well.
-Can I come?, asked the younger girl.
Beatrice looked at her, offering her hand with a smile on her face.
-I'm not letting you out of my sight again., said Beatrice as Ava took her hand.
They then walked to the basement, Ava being slightly creeped out by the place. They walked up to Vincent's cell, opening the door. The man got up when he saw Beatrice, bowing a little.
-Cut the bullshit. What do you want?, asked the older brunette.
-May I speak to you privately? It is about your mother., explained the man with a sigh.
-You can tell me whatever it is in front of them. And I already found out about the prostitution chain and the affair with Duretti, so you can save your breath., explained Beatrice as she crossed her arms.
-So you know about Adriel?, frowned Vincent.
-What would I want to know about Duretti's son?, wondered the girl, sighing.
-That he is your brother., replied the man quickly.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////A/N: DUM DUM DUUUUUM! pfff, jk jk. but yeah, haha, whoopsies, forgot to mention that Adriel is, well...you read it.
