Lilith drove Ava and Beatrice to the Silva's house. When they walked inside, Ava's mom walked up to them, frowning a little when she saw Beatrice's puffy eyes.

-Are you girls okay?, asked the mother.

-We'll talk tomorrow, mom. Can Bea stay for the night?, wondered Ava as she desperately hoped that she'd let her.

Marisa nodded immediately.

-Yeah, of course., replied Marisa.

Beatrice looked at her, giving her a light smile, but still seeming thankful.

-Thank you., thanked the older brunette.

-Of course. Are you okay honey?, asked the mother again, worried about Beatrice.

-Mom., sighed Ava, asking her to back off.

-Right. Talk tomorrow., nodded the mother.

She was about to walk away but Beatrice spoke.

-Wait. Is it weird if...I...Can I have a hug? Please?, tried Beatrice, not sure how to ask her.

Marisa frowned a little, confused by the request but she nodded, walking back to the girls. She walked up to Beatrice and hugged her tightly, feeling like she needs it. Ava just watched her mother hug her girlfriend. She was glad that Beatrice felt safe around her mother, now knowing how her own mother acts. She didn't judge or blame Beatrice for asking for that hug. A mother's hug is always so healing. Even if it isn't your own mother. After a little while, Beatrice pulled away as she wiped a few tears away. Marisa looked at her with a sad and concerned smile. She took Beatrice's hands.

-You are always welcome here. Okay? Always., said Marisa with a soft tone.

Beatrice nodded at her, glancing up at her.

-Thank you, Marisa., said the taller brunette.

-Stop thanking me. I'll leave you two alone now. If you need anything, I'm in the living room with Diego and Phil. We're watching Dancing with the stars., smiled the mother as she let go of Beatrice hands.

She walked away and disappeared into the living room. Beatrice looked at her girlfriend, feeling a little off.

-I'm sorry. That was probably weird of me., apologized Beatrice.

Ava smiled softly at her, pecking her cheek.

-Not at all. I'm glad my mom brings you comfort. Now let's go change into more comfy clothes., said Ava, taking Beatrice hands as she guided her upstairs.

They walked to Ava's room, closing the door behind themselves. Ava immediately went through her closet and grabbed her baggy pajamas for Beatrice. The older brunette nodded and placed them on the bed, then getting undressed.

Ava then walked to her bed, reaching under her pillow and grabbing her pajamas. She started getting undressed as well. As Beatrice was done changing, she glanced over at Ava. She frowned a little when she noticed a big yet old scar on Ava's back. Ava caught her looking, chuckling a little.

-What are you looking at, perv?, joked Ava.

-Your scar. Is it from the accident?, asked Beatrice with a serious tone.

Ava's expression changed a little. She put her hoodie on and walked over to Beatrice, sitting down next to her. She looked down at her hands and nodded.

-Yeah. A metal piece pierced through my back. A few inches closer to my spine and I would have ended up paralyzed., explained Ava, looking up at her girlfriend now.
