They were once again on their way to yet another surprise that Ava was unaware of since Beatrice had kept her in the dark about every single detail of their date day. The older brunette kept driving in silence as Ava observed her.

-Take a picture, it'll last longer., joked Beatrice with a smirk.

-I just love you so much. Truly. I am so in love with you, Beatrice. I want to be with you for as long as I can be., replied the younger brunette truthfully.

-I love you too. And the feeling is very mutual, my love., stated Beatrice with a soft smile, glancing over at Ava.

-So where are we going?, tried the younger girl once again.

-Nice try. But I am not telling you., chuckled the other brunette.

-Fine. I had to try., shrugged Ava with a pout.

They were once again in the middle of nowhere but at least they were no longer in a forest. They were driving in a deserted street until Beatrice randomly pulled over.

-Again, why does this feel like a serial killer move?, questioned Ava.

-You seriously need to stop watching those true crime documentaries, my love., chuckled Beatrice when she got out of the car.

Ava got out as well, joining her girlfriend who had stopped at the trunk of their car. Beatrice opened the trunk, revealing a blanket with pillows, a basket and a small portable freezer. Ava frowned and looked up at her girlfriend.

-What is this?, asked the brunette.

-Turn around, my love., chuckled Beatrice.

Ava did as told and raised her eyebrows. She could see the entirety of their city from up there. Well, not the entirety but it felt like it. The numerous lights reflecting from busy skyscraper. The red lights from cars driving around the street. The streetlamps lightening the sidewalks for people who truly seemed minuscule from up there.

-Woah., whispered Ava.

-Yeah. I know, my love. Now come here., smiled the older girl.

Ava turned around, finding her girlfriend inside the trunk, sitting there with two glasses and a bottle of champagne.

-Champagne? You? I surely didn't see that coming., chuckled Ava.

-It's the kids edition. Without alcohol. I thought we would prefer to be completely sober to cherish every second we are spending here with one another. I'm sorry. Maybe I should have brought you some real champagne and-, started Beatrice.

-Bea., said Ava firmly as she climbed in the trunk.

-Hm?, hummed the brunette.

-It's perfect. You're perfect. This entire day has been more than perfect. But it's not just today. It's not about the dates or the little details from today. It's about us. About you. About the fact that you love me and I love you. It's about our trust and affection for one another. Today was amazing but so is every other day and moment that I get to spend with you. You are the most selfless, caring, passionate, loving and understanding person I have ever met. And I can't believe that I get to call you mine. So stop spiraling about a stupid drink and let us enjoy this, yeah?, replied Ava as she took the two glasses and poured some of that alcohol free champagne for the both them.

Beatrice watched her with a soft smile before downing the entire drink and tackling Ava with a very loving kiss. Ava giggled but instantly returned the kiss, placing the cup down where it couldn't spill on anything before placing her hand on Beatrice's back. The older girl was hovering over her as she continued to kiss her. Ava desperately wanted to feel Beatrice's body on hers, so she pull her closer, not breaking the kiss. Beatrice let her, letting her body gently fall on Ava's, resting against her. She pulled away from the kiss, looking down at her girlfriend.

-I got you something., stated Ava with a chuckle.

-You did?, questioned Beatrice with a curious expression.

-Well, more like I got us something. But yes., nodded the younger girl.

-What is it?, asked Beatrice.

Ava reached into her purse and pulled out two very small boxes. Jewelry. Beatrice raised her eyebrows as Ava handed one of the boxes to her. She took it and opened it. She then looked back at Ava.

-Do you wanna marry me or something?, chuckled Beatrice.

-No. I mean, maybe eventually. But it's not a wedding ring. It's a promise ring., explained Ava as she blushed.

-A promise ring? A promise to what?, questioned the older girl.

-A promise to always be there for one another. To be loyal. To be kind and caring. To be loving. But most importantly, to always have each other's back, not matter what. I dont know if we will be together forever. If we somehow someday break up, I don't want to lose you. So i guess this is me asking you to be in my life. Forever. Whether it is as my girlfriend, wife or friend. And I will of course promise the same., stated Ava.

-I promise. I'm not going anywhere. Ever., smiled Beatrice, grabbing the ring and putting it on her finger.

-I promise as well., smiled Ava, doing the same with her ring.

-I love you so much., whispered the older brunette.

-I love you too., smiled Ava.

Beatrice pecked her cheek and then laid down completely, resting her head on Ava's chest while hugging her. The younger girl smiled at the sight, gently running her fingers through Beatrice's hair. Beatrice hummed in contempt, closing her eyes and letting herself rise and fall with every breath Ava took. Ava looked out the trunk, at the city. The busy streets. The countless of windows and houses and apartments. So many lives that they had no idea of. Everyone just living in their own little bubble. She came to this city, hoping for a fresh start. New house, new school, new friends. But she found so much better than that. She found a family. She found her better half. And she found herself.

Beatrice was just laying on Ava, her eyes closed as she listened to her heartbeat silently. That got her mind wandering. Ava had changed her life in every way possible. Her arrival changed everything for her. She finally got to reveal her true identity to the public. She had found out some dark secrets from her parents that she had maybe once wished she didn't know but now is thankful that she did. She finally knew who they really were. She didn't need them anymore. Especially her mother. She was taught by a very bubbly and annoying presence that one does not need to share the same blood to be a family. A family can be composed of various bloodlines. A found family. Her found family. Shannon and Mary, Lilith and Camila, Dora, her numerous employees who were always by her side, Marisa, Phil, Diego and most importantly, Ava. She finally had something that no one could ever take away from her. Love. Something that she had never received from her parents. Never truly. Her father was now laying in a grave, 6 feet deep, surely she missed him at times, while her mother was in a cell where she would be spending the rest of her life. She wouldn't forget either of them. She never could. She certainly isn't planning on forgiving them. And that's how it'll be left. Unforgiven.
