After this very eventful weekend, they were finally back in school. Beatrice drove herself and Ava to school in the morning and joined their friends before their first class. They still had some time to sit around and talk, which they truly enjoyed doing. The two held hands and walked up to their friends who were sitting in the entrance's waiting area.-Hey guys., smiled Ava, looking at them.
-Hi., said Beatrice, seeing their happy faces and their eyes going down to her and Ava's hands.
-So...what is this?, asked Lilith plainly.
-Hey, I'm the curious one in this group. But yeah, what is this?, asked Camila again, making everyone chuckle and laugh.
Ava looked at Beatrice, basically asking for her persmission.
-She's my girlfriend., smiled Ava as she looked back at her friends.
-Damn. Finally., said Mary, having Shannon hit her shoulder playfully.
Beatrice rolled her eyes at that comment, keeping her smile on her face.
-Oh come on, we all knew this was gonna happen eventually., chuckled Mary.
-Yeah. Don't make a big deal out of it, okay?, said Beatrice, sitting down on a chair.
Ava sat down next to her, still holding her hand.
-We won't. Can we know what happened to your little speech about how you want to wait for the case to be over?, asked Lilith, genuinely being curious.
-Oh. Uhm. We talked about it. We decided that if us being together brings me comfort and not stress, then why shouldn't we., shrugged Ava, looking at Beatrice with a smile.
Beatrice nodded in agreement, still smiling. That was until she saw a redhead staring at them. She clenched her jaw, which everyone noticed. Mary turned around and saw Sarah watching them. She sighed and looked back at Beatrice.
-Okay, I've had enough of her. I'm gonna fuck that bitch up., said Mary.
-Mary, do not. You are to stay away from her. All of you. Do you understand?, said Beatrice firmly.
-We can't just pretend like we don't know that she hurts you anymore, Bea. Enough is enough. Let us help you., continued Camila, joining in and agreeing with Mary.
-No. You stay away from her., repeated Beatrice again.
-Why?, asked Lilith plainly.
Beatrice looked down and clenched her jaw. Ava looked at her.
-They have the right to know, Bea., said the brunette.
Beatrice frowned and looked up at Ava. Ava looked at the girls.
-Sarah is blackmailing Beatrice. We can't intervene or else she will ruin Beatrice and her future. So please, just stay away from her., explained Ava, keeping obvious details to herself.
-What does she have on you?, asked Shannon with a frown.
-I can't say., replied Beatrice, not looking at them.
-Guys, don't push it., said Ava, trying to make them back off.
-We want to help, Ava. Beatrice needs our help., replied Mary, not giving in.
Beatrice got up and looked at her friends.
-If you can't stay away from her, then I can't be your friend. So tell me, which is it?, said Beatrice, storming off before they could answer.
Ava sighed and looked at them.
-I know. I know you feel helpless, I do too. I want to help her too. But guys, if Sarah talks, if she tells everyone what she knows,...Beatrice's life will be changed forever. We could lose her. I can't lose her. I won't. So please, no more questions. Just don't go after Sarah. I promise to take care of it. I just need you to trust me. Okay?, said the younger girl.
Some the girls nodded while Mary just looked at her with a confused expression.
-Ava, have you seen her bruises? This can't keep happening., argued Mary.
-I know. I know. I'll take care of it. I'll take care of Sarah. You have my word. All of you. Okay?, tried Ava again.
Mary had no choice but to nod. Ava then walked away as well, going to her class. She sat down next to Beatrice who seemed obviously tense.
-They just care, Bea., said Ava.
-I know., nodded the older brunette.
-Okay. Good. You can't be mad at them for it., replied Ava.
-I'm not. I just don't them to get hurt. You know how much there's at stake here, Ava. I can't risk it., explained Beatrice, finally looking at Ava.
-I know. What are you doing after school, by the way?, asked the younger girl.
-Oh. I'm actually going to a local shelter. I want to adopt a dog. I don't care about my parents' opinion anymore. They're never home anyways., shrugged Beatrice, now having a little smile on her face.
-Aw. That's adorable. I can't wait to meet the lucky doggo., smiled Ava.
-Do you want to come with me?, asked Beatrice, taking her books out.
-I wish. But my mom wants me home after school so we can talk about the case., lied Ava, giving her a light smile.
-Oh. Okay, that makes sense., nodded the older brunette.
Fast forward to after school. Lunch was awkward since there was a lot of tension. Luckily Sarah didn't feel the need to hurt Beatrice though on that day. They all just went their ways after school. Ava didn't get on her usual bus though. She got on a train. Once out, she walked down a street, making her way up to a big gate. She rang the bell and waited.
-Who is it?, said a male voice.
-Vincent? It's Ava, Beatrice's- friend., replied Ava.
-Miss Beatrice is not home., informed Vincent.
-I know. I'm not here to talk to her. I need to talk to you and the...the secret bodyguard girls?, said Ava, unsure of what she was saying.
There was a moment of silence but she then heard a buzzing sound and the side door of the gate opened. She walked through it and walked up to the mansion. She could see Vincent already waiting at the door, holding it open. She walked up to him, greeting him. He let her in and lead her to the girls who were obviously confused.
-Hi. Vincent, you can stay as well. Okay, so, I don't know what exactly your job is but Beatrice described it as basically bodyguards. I...I came here to inform you that Beatrice is in trouble. There is this girl at our school, Sarah, she used to date Beatrice. She found out about Beatrice's status and now is blackmailing her. She is hurting her. Physically. Doing...Doing disgusting things to her. I came here to ask for your help because I know that she won't be asking you for help herself., explained Ava, looking at the girls as she talked.
-This girl is harming Miss Beatrice?, asked a girl.
-Yes. In many ways., nodded the brunette.
-I see. Can you give us her name?, asked the girl again.
-Whose name?, asked a female voice behind Ava.
Shit.
