SIRIUS: Sibling Rivalry!

Sirius was extremely glad to be out of that chamber, he never thought he would detest a place more than his old family home but when he stepped through to see the changes in the place. He thought maybe his family home had become something. He was quickly followed through the Floo by others, he heard Andy and Remus with Teddy and Tonks and many more but Sirius was looking at the tapestry that had once haunted his time here during the war.

Where once there was an aging, old fashioned and dull depiction of a tree with the scorch marks of those that were banished littering the space; there was now a vibrant and shimmering new tree, full of beautiful foliage and flowers the branches reaching through to hold up the names from the old dying tree. Right at the center were Harry and his husband Draco, the new family name Potter-Black and below their name what appeared to be the new family motto.

Instead of the usual, Toujours Pur would be written with the family founder, or head of the house. There were the words Un amour toujours pur, always pure had become always pure love.

"It's beautiful isn't it. I'm not sure if the boys got to see it properly." Narcissa said. "Although I passed out before it was complete so I haven't seen it properly." She continued, so many things were different. He had a second chance but he was starting to wonder if he deserved it, after all for him it seemed like this was more like final chance after so many failures.

"It's pretty amazing, though they are pretty amazing together. The last time I heard about Draco, Harry didn't like him very much and the feeling was mutual." He said to Narcissa, still baffled at the fact he was talking to her civilly for the first time since their youth. Narcissa was about to say something in return when Regulus excitedly pulled Lily over to the tapestry.

"Look Lils, I told you one day you would be there and now look." Sirius watched as his younger brother looked from Lily who was smiling wide and tracing her fingers along the embroidery of her name on his family tapestry to James who came up behind Regulus and hugged him from behind. James beamed at the tapestry and Lily, while Regulus looked so lovingly at James, he had to look away.

He had known from the moment he found James and Lily in the afterlife that Regulus had not died. He had found out that his brother had been a good guy all along and he had got it all so wrong. He felt like before he died he had failed everyone.

Regulus who he had shunned and childishly thought was evil because of what a hat said, knowing from Andromeda that Slytherin didn't mean bad. James who he had unloaded all his family trauma on and not once realized that he had fallen in love with Regulus, that he even spoke to Regulus. It was just selfish choice after selfish choice.

Then Harry, his godson, his nephew, he had failed him the most. That he had gone for revenge and not immediately made Harry the priority, Regulus would have. Regulus had selflessly given up everything to be there for Harry in the event that James and Lily were targeted and because of Sirius not doing the one thing he was supposed to do Harry and Regulus had missed so much.

He thought being in Azkaban had been bad, he knew what unrelenting misery felt like and yet the feeling of what Regulus would have felt seeing a fully grown man instead of the young boy he should have been confronted with. The feeling of all the things he had wanted but never got the chance to have right there and ripped from you, with one foul swoop.

Narcissa had noticed he wasn't listening to whatever she had been saying and followed his line of sight. He felt her delicate hand touch his shoulder in a comforting way and was once again reminded that he had died and this was a different time. Perhaps a reflection of what things should have been like.
