The entire day seemed to fly by and you were sure that was because you were excited for after class when you would get to go over to Kayo's for the party. As soon as the final bell rang you literally jumped out of your desk.
You and Kayo started to walk together through the hallway and Kenma lagged just behind but still close enough to hear the two of you.
"I am so thankful my moms said they would leave for the night and let me handle the party on my own because the I think the invites have gotten a little out of hand for this one." Kayo said as the three of you walked.
Her parents were very trusting with her and Yaku. You were sure they knew that she was throwing a big party but they both had faith that she could handle it and would tidy the house before they returned the next day.
"How many people did you invite?" you asked out of curiosity.
Kayo's eyes widened. "Girl I don't even know anymore. I told everyone they could invite whoever they wanted as well and now I have no idea how many people are going to be showing up." she said with a laugh.
"Well that was stupid." Kenma added his little comment to the conversation.
"I know that now but there's not much I can do about that. But hey a party is a party and it'll still be a good time. Besides Mori already promised to help with the clean up." she said.
"I can help too since I'm coming over to go with you for your tattoo tomorrow." you offered. You really weren't a big fan of cleaning but at least Yaku and Kayo would be cleaning too so it wouldn't be so bad.
"Thanks y/n. This is exactly why you are my favourite person." she replied, accepting your offer. You smiled, it was nice to have a best friend who also considered you their best friend too. There was nothing quite like it.
The three of you arrived outside the school and waited a few minutes for Kuroo and Yaku to show up. When you finally saw them your stomach did a little flip. Yaku was walking with his attention on his phone and beside him Kuroo was walking but his attention was on the girl walking beside him who was talking.
Yaku was the first to spot you three and hurried over but Kuroo took a second to finish talking to Ari before he also approached. You watched as Ari waved to the boy before running off in the direction of where the school buses were lined up and waiting for students. As she passed you she gave you a quick excited smile. In her mind the two of you were sharing a knowing moment of her talking to her crush. But in your mind you wanted her to trip and fall and embarrass herself in front of Kuroo.
"What was that Kuroo?" Kayo asked in a teasing tone.
One of the only secrets you had kept to yourself from even Kayo was your little crush on Kuroo. Mainly because you had thought it was gone but also because it was embarrassing to be so down bad for a boy who simply saw you as one of his best friends.
"We've been working as lab partners and she had some questions. That's all." Kuroo answered dismissively. That boy was so hopeless. He was so blind to any signs that the girl liked him. Although that probably worked in your favour since it meant that he was also oblivious to the fact that you had liked him too.
"You sure that was all?" Kayo continued to tease the boy with a smirk and eyebrows raised high. You knew she meant no harm in her teasing but you really wanted her to shut up about it
"Let's get going, I don't want to be here anymore." Kenma cut in, seeming to have gotten bored of the mobile game he was playing on his phone.
"Oh yeah, do you guys all want a drive home to get ready for tonight?" Kayo offered.
