Complicated ~ Nekoma

Chapter Fifty-Eight

You and Yaku decided to abandon his car at the park and instead walk around the city together hiding your creations. As you walked Yaku carried the bag with all the rocks in it while keeping his grip on your hand with his free hand.

You were careful to scan the area you were walking in every couple of minutes just to make sure no one you two knew from school was around. The last thing you wanted was for rumors about the two of you to start spreading. Kayo always heard the newest gossip at the school and it would look really bad if she heard about you and Yaku from some random kid at school.

The two of you found so many various places to hide your rocks. Some were in parks, some outside cafes or schools, and others under public benches. It was a lot of fun just going around and finding different places like a scavenger hunt. 

At one point you found a place on a little ledge outside a restaurant. You placed two of the rocks down but when you glanced over at the window of the restaurant you made out two familiar figures getting up from their seats where they had just finished eating.

"Shit!" you exclaimed as you grabbed Yaku's hand and dragged him away from the window where you couldn't be seen.

"What happened?" Yaku asked with wide eyes once you two were away from the window.

"Kayo and Akaashi." you said in explanation. 

Yaku seemed to immediately understand the situation as he nodded and carefully glanced in the corner of the window. 

"They're coming this way!" he said as he grabbed your hand again to pull you down the sidewalk away from the restaurant. You ran along behind the boy until the two of you turned a corner. 

"Are they still coming?" you asked through heaved breaths due to the sudden running. 

Yaku glanced around the corner. "Yep!" he said as he immediately started pulling you along again. 

Despite how badly things could go if the two of you got caught you were actually having a lot of fun running around with him. It felt like a game of hide n seek even though Kayo and Akaashi didn't know they were playing. It still gave you a huge rush of adrenaline. 

"Let's go in one of the stores." you said. Yaku nodded to your words as he took a quick turn to one of the entrances to a stores. He opened the door quickly letting you enter first before following suit.

It probably would have been smartest to go to the back of the store and hide out for a few minutes until the two of them walked past the store. But you didn't do that. Something about the rush of possibly getting caught was driving you crazy. So you found a spot right up behind a rack of clothing by the store window to hide where you could see the street.

You were crouched down and Yaku took a spot right beside you with a firm hand on your back. 

A couple minutes after you were in your place you spotted the two walking down the street. Kayo had her arm linked with her boyfriends and the two of them were in conversation. Right as they were passing the shop you were hiding in the two of them stopped. Kayo pointed at something in the display case and said something, followed by Akaashi's response before the two continued down the street.

Once they were well out of sight you looked over at Yaku. Your heart was racing and you were experiencing some new sort of high you had never felt before.

"That was really close." Yaku whispered, it was clear that his heart had been pounding as well and you weren't entirely sure he was getting the same joy out of this that you were.

"Holy shit that was fun!" you exclaimed, looking at him with wide eyes.

Yaku gave you a puzzled look for just a moment.
