Once the house was put back together the best the two of you could you felt horrible. All you could think about the entire time you were cleaning was Bokuto. He didn't deserve the disappointment of a friend breaking their promise to him. Of course you would explain that you couldn't make it but that didn't help him in the middle of his game when he couldn't find you.

You glanced around the house, it wasn't perfect but the few things that were broken Isamu would have to come up with some lie why they broke to tell your parents. You had used far more Febreze and air freshener than you had planned but at least the smell of smoke was no longer lingering.

As you finished sweeping the room you had been cleaning you glanced at the clock that read 5:03. You had known right from the start that cleaning was going to take longer than just an hour but you felt like you had wasted your entire day.

You wasted no extra time as you hurried to the door, your parents would be home shortly and you didn't want to be there when they saw the items that your brothers friends had broken. Besides, even though you knew it was foolish you still had a smidge of hope that the Fukurodani volleyball team would still be at their gym even if the game had already ended long ago.

You made your way to the train station and were fortunate to catch the train right before it left your stop. That was probably the first thing that actually went your way all weekend and even though it was a only small win it still felt huge.

You took the train to the stop you had gotten off the one time you ran into Akaashi. You were now thankful for that day because if it weren't for that you never would have known where Fukurodani even was without your phone for directions. But Akaashi had told you it was just down the street from that stop.

It took you longer than it would have if your phone had been broken but you did eventually find the school. It was amazing to see just how big it was, it was on a whole other level than Nekoma. But you didn't have time to admire the school.

After asking a few students who were hanging about you were able to find the volleyball gym. You felt the little bit of hope you had been building up ever since you left your house fizzle away when you saw that the doors were already locked and the lights were all off.

The game was over. The team was gone. You missed the whole thing.

You could feel everything starting to hit you. Ever since you had started hanging out with Bokuto he had been enthusiastic and friendly and his happiness had been so contagious. But now you couldn't even apologize to him for not showing up.

"Y/n?" you heard the familiar voice from behind you. You quickly tried to settle your building emotions before turning to face the boy.

"Is Bokuto here still?" you asked as you looked at Akaashi.

He shook his head in response. "The game ended a while ago. I just forgot something and had to come back." he explained. Based on his expression you were almost positive he knew you were supposed to be at the game today.

"I should have been here." you stated. You felt awful about the whole thing and you didn't even want to begin to think about what Akaashi thought about you. He was surely on his best friends side and probably thought you were awful for ditching when you gave your word you would be here.

"Maybe. I'm sure you have your reasons why you weren't here." he replied simply. You were thankful that he was at least giving you the benefit of believing you didn't skip the game in malice.

"Is he angry? I feel so terrible." you asked. You did have your reasons why you couldn't make it but you didn't want to even go anywhere near that with Akaashi.
