On Wednesday class went by decently fast. You now found yourself and Yaku catching each others attention during lunch to mouth something goofy to each other. You knew it was stupid with all your friends right there but there was just so much that made you think of him now and countless things you wanted to tell him about every topic. All your life you had thought that people were joking when they talked about the excitement and butterflies of just starting to go out with someone, but they were one hundred percent real.
When school was done you, Kuroo, and Kenma took the train home together. It felt like it had actually been quite a while since the three of you were doing the commute home together so it was nice to just enjoy each others company again. The train was busy today so you three had to stand, you made sure to keep a good hold on Kenma and hope that he didn't vomit from motion sickness.
Once the train rolled to a stop near your house you three all got off, Kenma looking more pale than usual. Kuroo was always the first to get home since you two had to pass his house on the way to yours.
"You guys wanna come in for a bit?" Kuroo asked as you guys arrived at his driveway.
"Sure!" you said and Kenma nodded in agreement. You would never say no to hanging out with these two.
It was one of those evenings when you all just hung out but still did your own things. Kuroo was reading some new book he had recently gotten into, you were sketching something you wanted to try to recreate as a painting later, and Kenma was on his Nintendo DS. It was a nice evening, you always liked doing nothing with them.
"Hey I got an idea." Kuroo said as he looked up from his book after you had all been doing your own thing for probably two hours.
"What's that?" you asked, you were beginning to get a little bored of drawing and welcome to the idea of doing something else now.
"Poker!" Kuroo exclaimed.
"Kuroo that always ends the same. You get caught bluffing and lose everything, we keep playing until y/n gets bored because there is only two of us." Kenma stated, glancing up from his game.
"Okay but what if we invite more people over to mix it up? I could give Yaku a call." Kuroo suggested.
"Alright." Kenma agreed with a shrug. Truthfully Kenma always enjoyed when the three of you would play poker - probably because he always won. You guys never really put any real money on the line, just a couple of bucks so it was fun.
Kuroo dialed Yaku's number and waited a few minutes with his phone on speaker until the boy answered.
"What's up?" Yaku's voice came through.
"Come over we are playing poker, get your sister as well." Kuroo said, skipping any sort of greeting or formality all together.
"Kayo's got Akaashi over." Yaku said.
"Tell her to bring him too. They can grab Bokuto on their way over." Kuroo responded.
"Alright, I'll see if they want to." Yaku agreed, you could tell he had put his phone away from him because his talking became very distant for a moment as he spoke to Kayo. "We'll be there soon." he said a second later, his voice coming through clearly again.
"Okay bye." Kuroo replied, hanging up the phone before Yaku could respond. This was part of the reason why these two drove each other nuts, they were always doing anything they could to get under the other ones skin.
You, Kuroo, and Kenma went to the kitchen to prepare the table for the big game. Kenma basically just sat in one of the chairs to finish his level while you and Kuroo went around collecting other chairs and getting the cards and table ready.
