When you woke up the next morning Kenma was still laying beside you but he was awake fiddling with his DS. On weekends Kenma either slept in until late afternoon or woke up very early to spend the whole morning playing video games, he had always been like that.
"Morning." you mumbled in a sleepy voice. You were sure that your breath was atrocious since you hadn't been able to brush them the night before so you barely opened your mouth as you spoke.
"Morning, how did you sleep?" Kenma asked, looking over at you.
"Good." you answered with a small yawn.
Kenma raised his eyebrows in question, clearly suspecting you were lying. He probably expected that you were up all night thinking about your brother but the truth was that after talking to him about it you were actually able to push it off your mind.
"I did." you insisted. His eyebrow raised a little higher and you laughed as you gave his face a little push away. After that Kenma gave up and decided to believe you.
"What is your plan for today? Are you going back home?" Kenma asked, changing the subject to something a little more serious.
You had never even thought about what you were going to do today. Last night you just needed to get out of the house but the thought of what you would do after that had never even crossed your mind. You were glad it didn't though because it would have just made you more anxious.
"Well I have to go back home eventually, I can't just stay here forever." you said. You weren't looking forward to seeing Isamu after he had yelled at you but it wasn't like you could just move out.
"You can stay here for as long as you need to." Kenma said.
You appreciated the boy so much, it was incredible to have a friend who was willing to do anything to make sure you were happy.
"Thank you Kenma. But I will have to go back today. I don't want to be near Isamu for any longer than I have to though so is it okay if I stay here for a bit? I have a thing at three, can I stay until two then I don't really have any time to interact with Isamu." you asked.
Kenma nodded with a smile.
You picked up your phone to check the time but almost immediately got distracted by the message on the phone.
Bokuto: HEY!!! GOOD MORNING Y/N! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AT 3 =D
You smiled at the message as you typed out a response for the boy. You were still looking forward to going to Bokuto's game today. Being around Bokuto made it nearly impossible to be in a bad mood.
Y/n: I'll be there for sure so you better be prepared to show off a little :)
Bokuto: OH YOU KNOW I'LL BE SHOWING OFF FOR YOU! YOU'RE GONNA BE AMAZED!! THEN ICE CREAM AFTERWARDS!!
Y/n: Sounds like a plan. See you then!
Bokuto: SEE YOU!!
Other than the message from Bokuto your phone had no notifications. Your smile faded as you glanced at Isamu's contact. Not only was there no apology for you but the boy hadn't even checked up on you to find out if you were safe after you never came home last night. The harsh truth was that he didn't actually care if you were safe. He never did.
You turned off your phone because it was only hurting you to stare at the lack of messages. Kenma seemed to notice your change of mood though so he turned on the tv for the two of you to play Minecraft together.
You and Kenma spent the entire morning playing Minecraft with each other. At one point his mother came in and asked when you had arrived and the two of you convinced her that you had just gotten there. As soon as she left though you both burst out laughing.
