You took your seat beside Kayo like usual with Kenma sitting in his desk behind the girl. She didn't so much as glance at either of you as you sat down. You didn't know if you should say something to her or leave her alone. She was making a clear effort not to interact with you while still remaining civil enough to not move spots. But you had a strong feeling that she didn't want you to interact with her either.
You decided against trying to start a conversation with her and instead did everything you could to just pay attention to the lesson. Kayo didn't even turn to whisper to you when the guy she absolutely despises reminded the teacher that he had said there would be a pop quiz at some point this week and it was already Thursday. Kenma did however sigh when that happened causing Kayo to turn and nod in agreement with Kenma. But Kayo didn't have any reason to be mad with Kenma, he wasn't the one who went behind her back and then lie to her face.
Eventually the part of the day that you had actually been dreading more than class had arrived. Kayo didn't completely blow you off for lunch like you had thought she might, when the bell rang she walked on the opposite side of Kenma. You could tell Kenma was really uncomfortable and stressed out as he attempted to lead a conversation that included both you and Kayo.
Kenma was super relieved when the three of you met up with Kuroo and he took over the talking. Even though Kuroo was a very chatty person and good at keeping a conversation flowing you could tell that even he was struggling with keeping Kayo focused on the conversation. While she didn't seem obviously angry you could tell her thoughts were constantly wandering.
Kayo did respond to Kuroo when he would directly ask her a question but she wasn't being loud the way she normally was or teasing Kenma at all. The worst part though had to be that it felt as if she didn't even know you were there, she didn't so much as glance at you once throughout the entire lunch.
Yaku ended up sitting at a table with some of his other friends. You weren't surprised by that though, you would have done the same thing if you had been him. Especially considering he didn't always sit with you guys anyway.
There was one moment, only one that lasted about four seconds, when his eyes met yours from across the cafeteria. Even though you were far away from him and it wasn't a long moment, he still wore this look that promised the two of you would be okay.
Kuroo was across the table talking about something to Kayo and Kenma was quietly eating beside you. You risked just a moment of typing on your phone.
Y/n: When can we talk? This is killing me.
You thought maybe Kenma noticed what you were doing out of the corner of his eye, but that was alright since Kenma knew everything anyway. Besides there was no chance Kayo would notice since she was doing everything she could to avoid looking at you.
Yaku: Ask your teacher to go to the washroom around 1:00, I'll meet you at the corner between the third and second year hallway.
Y/n: Okay
It wasn't like his text magically made you feel better. But at least the two of you could finally talk about what had happened the night before. You wanted to be close to him more than anything, you wanted to know that you two were going to still survive this.
Class was even more painful than before lunch as the minutes slowly ticked away. Eventually the clock on the wall above the door showed the time to be 12:58. You wasted no time in asking to leave to use the washroom.
You immediately made your way over to the place where Yaku had indicated the two of you should meet. He was already there pacing probably just as nervous about the situation as you were.
