When you got home from school you didn't feel like doing a whole lot. Isamu seemed to notice your deflated mood but after asking several questions that you didn't want to answer he eventually decided it was best to just leave you alone. You had been planning to do nothing all evening other than watch tv and rot in bed. That had been your plan...
You had been laying in bed on your phone when a message came through.
Bokuto: I heard from Akaashi that Kayo knows. Are you okay?
You were pretty sure that this was the first time he had ever sent you a message that wasn't in all caps. Bokuto must have known how down you were.
Y/n: I'll get there.
Bokuto: Would it help if we went out and stuffed our faces?
You almost smiled at that. The idea of stuffing your face with food to make yourself feel better was almost appealing, but you just didn't think you had it in you mentally to leave your house right now.
Y/n: I'm sorry Bo, I don't really want to go out right now
Bokuto: How about I come over there and we stuff our faces while watching tv?
You could have said no, Bokuto didn't seem like the type to get super offended if you needed your space. But Bokuto had been the one who had made you feel a little better when you were going through a whole different heartbreak with your parents. You trusted him to help you through this friend heartbreak.
Y/n: I'd actually like that a lot
Bokuto: YAY! I"LL BE THERE SOON!
There he was! Weirdly enough you actually missed the caps in his messages. It just felt more like Bokuto to have the enthusiasm jump out at you through the texts.
When Bokuto showed up at your house he didn't come empty handed, he had brought both a variety of chocolate bars and a tub of ice cream. It was actually a good thing that he had because you almost never had junk food lying around your house, any sort of junk food that your mom would buy would quickly be eaten up by your father.
"So what are we watching?" Bokuto asked with a bright smile. You gave him the smallest smile in return.
The two of you spent the evening on the couch watching stupid rom coms and eating junk food. Never once did Bokuto ask about the Kayo and Yaku situation and you were so thankful for that. It was nice to just pretend you were fine for the evening, you needed that more than talking about everything.
Bokuto was actually quite funny to watch rom coms with because he got way too excited and invested in what was happening. And even though you thought the outcome of each one was super obvious and always pretty much the same, he seemed shocked by each one.
Eventually Bokuto left and you were once again left with this empty feeling. But Bokuto did leave a little spark in you that had you feeling just a little better.

The next morning you felt this gut wrenching dread at the thought of going to school again. If it was going to be the same as yesterday then you didn't think you could do it again. You couldn't sit beside Kayo in silence not knowing what she was thinking while she did everything she could not to look at you.
But you already knew your parents wouldn't let you skip school without explaining the whole thing and considering you never even told them you had a boyfriend you didn't think telling them this would be a great idea. Besides you were afraid of what type of message it would send Kayo if you didn't show up to school, the last thing you wanted was for her to think you were actively avoiding her.
