The next morning you could immediately feel your exhaustion as your alarm rang. There were very few times when you stayed up until three in the morning on school nights and you were really regretting that decision right about now.
As you began to get ready for school you began to think back to your conversation with Bokuto about your brother. You had finally come to the decision that you would try talking to him after school. You weren't sure that you would forgive him or that he even wanted you to but you wanted to at least talk to him.
It didn't take you long to get ready and head over to your neighbours house. As Kuroo let you into Kenma's house you gave him a quick smile that he immediately returned. After the shitty dinner with your family you had almost completely forgotten about the conversation you and Kuroo had at the cabin. Or the fact that he kissed you.
It felt good to know that you were no longer hiding any sort of secret from the boy. Everything was out in the open between the two of you and you felt better because of it. If anything you were both stronger for having had that conversation.
You made a mental note to treat Yaku to some ice cream or something in return for helping you open up to Kuroo. Really it was only because of him that you were able to actually do it.
"You look exhausted. Did you have a hard time falling asleep last night?" Kuroo asked. You knew the eye bags were most definitely visible on your face but there wasn't much you could do about that since the only real cure would be more sleep.
"Sort of." you answered.
Before you could get into any details on yours and Yaku's multiple conversations that lasted hours Kenma came down the stairs also looking exhausted. That was definitely not out of the ordinary for him though.
As you started to walk towards the train Kenma ended up in the middle of the two of you.
"How was the cottage?" Kenma asked.
"It was really good." you replied, smiling over at Kuroo who returned your smile.
Kenma quickly looked between the two of you with a puzzled look. "That was weird." he stated.
You couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. You and Kuroo were probably acting a little more weird than normal but that would only last a little before things returned to normal.
"We played volleyball, swam in the lake, went for a hike... you would've hated it Kenma." Kuroo said, also laughing at Kenma's reaction.
"You're right about that." Kenma agreed. "Your art gallery is on Friday right?" he asked, changing the topic.
You grinned and nodded. "Yep! I've already got my pieces all ready. I can't wait for it!" you said excitedly.
Kenma gave you that small smile that he only showed once in a while. You loved it, you had always thought that Kenma had the best smile.
"Wow that's coming fast. These last two weeks have flown by! Your taken your parents for your two tickets right?" Kuroo asked.
You nodded again. "They said we could make a whole day out of it." you answered.
You still weren't sure how you felt about your parents. Part of you still wanted to make them see the part of your life they had written off as a waste of time. You wanted them to understand and apologize. You wanted to move forward with them. But you highly doubted that would ever happen. You weren't allowing them the power to make you feel shitty about the things you loved but you also weren't prepared to completely cut them off.
For now you had this trip to look forward to. It might change things for you.
"That sounds great! I hope you have a great time!" Kuroo beamed with a smile.
