You drove with Kayo to the ice cream place while Akaashi and Bokuto took Akaashi's car. At some point it turned into a bit of a race between Kayo and Akaashi to see who could get there first. Kayo won which resulted in a lot of bragging on her end and complaining on Akaashi's side. You and Bokuto both didn't really care who got there first since your minds were already on the ice cream you were going to get.

You decided to go with cookies n cream while Bokuto got cookie dough, Akaashi butterscotch, and Kayo moose tracks. You ended up in a seat beside Bokuto and across from Kayo. Bokuto was still clearly on a bit of a high as he excitedly spoke about the game they had. Akaashi nodded along to Bokuto as he continued to eat.

"Y/n you gotta come to another one soon!" Bokuto exclaimed excitedly after he was done going over every single play that had happened during the game.

"Alright, I will. I still have to give you your volleyball back anyway." you said with a little laugh at his excitement.

It felt nice to know how much the boy liked being around you. It was hard to believe that the two of you hadn't even been friends for all that long. It was only a few weeks ago that Kayo was begging you to come to the fair with her and give him a chance. You had been so against going because you thought that you and Bokuto were far too different to ever mesh well together.

Things would have been so different today if you hadn't agreed to that day. Bokuto wasn't just a fun guy to hang out with, he had helped you with seeing how wrong the way your parents treated you was. He was the reason you were able to break free from them and just enjoy living your life the way you wanted to. You owed so much to this boy.

"Oh right! You sure you don't wanna just take up volleyball yourself?" he asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Think I'll stick to watching." you replied with a little chuckle.

The conversation turned over to a few random things and the four of you continued chatting well after you had finished eating your ice cream.

"Should we head home for the night? We do have school tomorrow." Akaashi asked after a while.

"Wait home already? I'm way too hyper for that. Who wants to go for a walk?" Bokuto asked.

"I have a test tomorrow, I can't Bokuto." Akaashi replied.

"Yeah sorry Bo, I've gotta head home too. I told Mori I'd help him make dinner because our moms are working late." Kayo responded.

You watched Bokuto's expression deflate as both his friends declined his request.

"I can waste an hour Bokuto." you said with a small smile.

Bokuto's face immediately lit up with excitement.

"Okay! Y/n and I'll walk around for a bit, you two can both go home. I'll walk y/n home when we are done." he exclaimed.

Akaashi and Kayo both agreed as the two of them left, taking their cars home with them. You and Bokuto headed out walking down the sidewalk together. It was already dark out since it was getting late but you felt completely safe with Bokuto.

"So, I'm dying to know how the art show went? Did ya kill it like I knew you would?" Bokuto asked in anticipation.

You smiled and nodded to his question. "Yep, sure did! You should have seen all the talent there Bo! Literally everyone who was there deserved it. And my pieces got quite a bit of attention! It was really such an incredible experience to have!" you exclaimed excitedly.

Bokuto smiled brightly at you. "I knew you'd rock it! I'm so proud! Did your parents finally see it?" Bokuto asked.

"See what?" you responded in confusion.
