The next morning you still didn't feel like going to school but you knew you couldn't push your luck with how long your mothers kindness would last in allowing you to skip school. But at least unlike yesterday, the idea of going to your classes and interacting with your friends actually sounded barrable.
When you made your way into the kitchen your brother was already there eating his breakfast. You hadn't spoken to him since you had told him that you hate him and never wanted to see him again. Nothing had changed that. You thought that maybe after taking time to yourself and cooling down you would be at least willing to entertain the idea of forgiving him... but you couldn't. You almost always had a hard time holding a grudge for longer than a few hours but this time it was different.
"Y/n, I'm so sorry for what happened. Is there any way you can fix your painting?" Isamu questioned. There was definitely guilt hiding in his eyes.
You stared at him blankly for a minute for him to understand how stupid his question was. Your painting was far beyond saving.
"Can you pass me the milk?" you asked without any emotion to your voice. Isamu nodded and immediately handed over the carton to you. He didn't push his unanswered question any further and instead finished his bowl of cereal silently.
You were quick to eat and left the house before Isamu without another word exchanged. You wanted him to really understand that you weren't lying when you said that you hated him. It was a hate that wasn't ever going to go away.
You were about to make your way over to Kenma's house but instead was surprised to see the two boys on your front step.
Kuroo immediately pushed a firm hand to your forehead. "How are you feeling today?" he asked in concern. You had forgotten that other than Bokuto everyone believed you were actually sick yesterday.
"I'm fine Kuroo." you answered quickly, knowing that the boy wasn't going to feel any sort of abnormal temperature off you since you were never actually sick to begin with.
"Good. You had me worried girl. I was going to come by yesterday to take care of you after school but Isamu had insisted that you probably didn't want any visitors." Kuroo explained. "You're sure that you are okay?" he asked again to clarify.
You nodded. "Yeah I'm good. I appreciate that you were going to come over for me though." you replied.
"Well of course I was going to come over for you, why wouldn't I?" he said as he ruffled your hair. You should be mad because you were going to school with this hair. You should be mad but you couldn't because it was Kuroo and everytime he did that little action your heart jumped.
You smiled at him because even just being around Kuroo was enough reason for you to smile.
"I did however get you this. It's an alien I think." Kuroo said as he pulled a tiny squishmellow out of his bag.
"Kuroo that is a slug." Kenma pointed out.
Kuroo furrowed his brows as he examined the plushie a little closer. He then chuckled a little that stupid laugh you loved so very much. "Guess I got you a slug!" he said with a laugh.
You smiled as you accepted the gift from him. "Thanks. I don't know how you knew a slug is just what I needed." you said sarcastically even though you were laughing.
"Well I hadn't realized it was a slug when I got it. So sorry Miss princess." Kuroo replied jokingly.
"Thank you Testsu." you said in a more serious tone. He didn't understand just how badly you needed that small gesture. No one seemed to understand just how much these little things meant to you after how shitty you felt about everything that had happened over the weekend.
