Complicated ~ Nekoma

Chapter Thirty-Nine

It was just you and Kuroo now for another few minutes. This was your opportunity to start Yaku's set up plan. You just had to somehow hold his hand without making it obvious what you were doing.

"Holy crap, when did it get so hot out?" Kuroo questioned. 

You hadn't even realized just how nice it was outside. It wasn't the normal spring nice weather where you could go out in a t-shirt and feel comfortable. Instead it was summer nice out, the type where you can feel yourself sweating just from standing outside. 

His comment sparked an idea in your head and you grinned as you slyly took hold of his hand. Kuroo looked down curiously at your interlocked hands then turned his attention back to you raising an eyebrow at your sudden gesture.

You grinned widely as he continued to give you a puzzled look, clearly having no idea what you were thinking.

"There's only one way to cool off without any air conditioning Tetsu!" you exclaimed as you immediately started to pull him along in a run towards the dock.

Kuroo seemed to immediately pick up on what you were suggesting as he started to run along side you. You couldn't help but think about how nice it was to feel his hand in yours, they seemed to fit perfectly together. You just knew that the two of you were supposed to be together.

You both ran out onto the dock and you stopped before jumping in because you finally realized what you were doing.

"We should have put our swimsuits on first." you said looking over at him.

Kuroo simply shrugged. "Too late now. I'm invested in this whole cooling off idea." he said.

You didn't get any chance to protest as he let go of your hand. But instead of jumping in the lake like you had expected he instead scooped you right off your feet, holding you close to himself bridal style.

"Guess our clothes will just have to dry out in the sun." he added with a huge smirk on his face. You knew what that smirk meant. 

You started to laugh but it quickly turned into a shriek as you felt Kuroo leap off of the dock with you in his arms. It took only a split second before you felt your body hit the cool water. Despite the quick temperature change, the coldness of the water was really nice on your skin.

"You're such an idiot!" you laughed when you both had emerged from under the water.

"Technically we are both idiots. You have to take partial blame for this one." Kuroo pointed out.

"I only brought you over to the dock. I'm not the one who threw us both in the lake fully clothed." you said. "So technically you are the idiot. I'm just the enabler." you added.

Kuroo flicked water in your face as a response instead of defending himself.

"Real mature." you said sarcastically. But then he flicked more water at you again. "Are you serious?" you asked with a laugh as you wiped the water out of your eyes. He grinned as he this time splashed even more water in your direction. 

"That's it!" you said as you launched yourself at him, completely dunking his head in the water.

You were laughing so hard but then you felt both his hands wrap around your waist and you managed to hold your breath just in time as you tossed you backwards into the water. As you resurfaced you sent a wave of water in Kuroo's direction, getting a direct splash at your face.

"I'm so getting you back for that!" Kuroo claimed as he started a water fight. You were both nearly dying of laughter at this point as you tried to win your little splash fight with him.
