Chapter 7

Katherine made a dramatic return to Mystic Falls by stabbing John, while Jeremy, grieving over Anna's death in the fire, took vampire blood and painkillers to end his own life.

Elena found them and rushed them to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Damon had a confusing conversation with Elena about her whereabouts the previous night, only to realize he had kissed Katherine, not Elena.

Katherine approached Estrella, who mistook her for Elena at first.

"Come on, I'm disappointed you didn't recognize me," Katherine teased, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Katherine?" Estrella exclaimed in surprise.

"The one and only," She replied, smirking.

"Oh my god, come in. How did you—?" Estrella, still shocked, invited her in. While managing to suppress her magic, a slip caused her hair to briefly turn teal, revealing her gratitude and acknowledging that it was Katherine who had saved her that fateful night.

Startled by Estrella's shifting hair color, Katherine says, "Well, I did promise your brothers I'd keep you safe."

She paused, studying Estrella with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Now, pray tell me, why is your hair suddenly turning into a rainbow?"

She explained, "It changes according to my emotions. I'm a witch."

Katherine seemed unfazed. "Fascinating. I already had an inkling about the 'witchy' aspect," she admitted.

Estrella's expression showed surprise as she asked, "Why are you here?"

She hesitated briefly before responding, "I can't say. It's best if you stay out of this mess. I simply came to visit you upon learning you were awake. Now that I know you're all well and good, I will take my leave. Meet you later,"

With that, Katherine took her leave, promising to return for another visit.

Damon and Stefan finally uncover Katherine's motives and the extent of her threat.

Meanwhile, Mason Lockwood arrives in Mystic Falls for his brother's funeral who was the mayor of the town, and Tyler's father.

He died in the fire mishap that happened last week.

Estrella found herself confined to her home, bored and frustrated, wanting to go out.

Damon, aware of the dangers lurking in Mystic Falls, refused. 

"You can't keep me locked up forever," She complained. 

"Watch me," He retorted. "There are threats out there, and I won't let you get caught in the crossfire."

To alleviate her boredom, he provided her with painting supplies, a temporary solution to her confinement.

Grateful for the diversion, Estrella immerses herself in her art once more, finding solace in the strokes of her brush.

Meanwhile, Katherine's manipulation extended to Caroline, turning her into a vampire.

Confused and desperate, Caroline goes to Carnival.

Despite Damon's reservations, "Please I want to explore outside and I am facing a severe fever of boredom and it will be effectively cured if I go out. Can we go to carvels which are held tonight?" Estrella tries to persuade Stefan to take her outside.

"It's called Carnival. How did you even find out about that?" Damon questioned skeptically.

"I overheard Elena mentioning it," Estrella replies innocently, adding, "Please, it sounds fascinating."

Though hesitant, Stefan reluctantly agrees, while Damon remains uneasy with the decision.

Excited about the outing, Estrella turns to Elena for outfit advice, eager to embrace the diversion from her confinement.

As they were getting ready to leave, Estrella couldn't stop her hair from changing back to its normal brown color from blue.

Damon annoyingly said, "You need to learn to control that, Rainbow." Damon got even more annoyed when Stefan asked him to watch over Estrella.

So finally, Estrella arrived at the carnival with Damon, her face lit up with excitement, prompting him to cautiously check her hair, confirming it was still in her original brunette hair which meant she could control it.

He guided her through various games at the carnival and ended up winning her a teddy bear, although it seemed more like he compelled the man to give it to her, much to Estrella's discontent.

"I just never understood how you managed to do that?" she asked curiously.

Damon responded, "I hypnotized him," and elaborated when he noticed her puzzled expression. "I compelled him. It's vampire juju."

He had his suspicions about Mason, he left Estrella in Elena's care, keeping an eye on her while he dealt with Mason.

"Oh, he is definitely my prime target now," Damon says while Stefan tries to reason with him. 

"Damon, don't do any-" Stefan says but Damon turns his head towards Mason. 

"Why is he looking at our sister like that?" Stefan says, sternly.

"Exactly, my question," Damon muttered.

Estrella, who was laughing at something Elena said, had unwittingly caught Mason's attention, which made her brothers glare in grimace.

Both brothers left her in Elena's care, but Estrella didn't seem bothered as she was too busy enjoying her candy floss.  

Damon used a technique to coax him into revealing his secret, discovering that Mason was a werewolf.

While with Elena, they stumbled upon Caroline feeding on someone.

Shocked, they rushed to tell Stefan and Damon, who immediately wanted to take action by killing her.

This shocked Estrella, causing her hair to turn a dark shade of blue.

Despite Damon's insistence, Estrella, Stefan, and Elena stood against him in defense of Caroline.

He couldn't believe Estrella's defiance. "You don't even know her," he exclaimed incredulously. But Estrella remained determined.

"I don't need to, Damon," she retorted. "You do the same thing, but we're not planning to kill you right away. Give her a chance. She might surprise you by outliving even you."

Damon scoffed at her words, refusing to listen.

He attempted to attack Caroline, but Elena stepped in between them, preventing him from harming her.

At the same time, Bonnie arrived and discovered that Caroline was a vampire. She directed her anger towards Damon, but Estrella intervened.

Estrella pushed Bonnie away and used her magic to extinguish the fire by lifting her hands, surprising everyone as it was the first time she used hand movements to cast a spell.

Stefan and Estrella comfort Caroline, who is shaken and confused by everything that is happening.

Caroline tearfully tells Stefan, "I can smell her blood, please."

Stefan quickly asked Estrella to leave, and as she was leaving, "I am sorry," Caroline apologized to her. 

"It's okay," Estrella reassured her with a slight smile.
