Estrella went to meet Liz, who is now at home with strict orders from Caroline to rest. As soon as Liz sees her, she pulls her into a warm hug, thanking her sincerely.
Liz begins to get up, saying she'll make them some tea, but Estrella quickly intervenes.
"No, no. You need to rest. I already brought my signature pie and coffee," Estrella says with a smile, holding up a box.
"You sound just like Caroline now," Liz chuckles, taking the box from her.
"And thank you for this," she adds, her eyes shining with gratitude. Estrella beamed.
"You need to keep up your strength for tomorrow's dinner party—you are the guest of honor, after all," Estrella reminds her, still smiling.
As they settle down, Estrella's thoughts drift.
With the Christmas holiday approaching, she has been considering dropping out of college; it was becoming difficult to balance everything.
The decision weighed heavily on her, leaving her confused about what to do next.
They spent the entire day together, with Liz doting on Estrella.
At one point, Liz brings up something that had clearly been on her mind.
"So, do you really think my tumor is gone? How did it work? And I need an honest opinion. I saw the looks you and Bonnie shared," she says, her voice steady but her eyes searching.
Estrella sighs softly. "Honestly? I don't know. I don't want to discourage you, but magic has its limits. And as Bonnie mentioned, she's never heard of anyone curing cancer with magic before."
Liz smiled at her, a knowing look in her eyes. "Well, not everyone has magic like yours. Literal and metaphorical," she says with a wink.
Estrella's smile trembles, and she tears up slightly. "My mother used to say that too. I'm just... I'm just so glad you're okay," she says, her voice thick with emotion.
"Me too," Liz replies, squeezing her hand. Then, with a lighter tone, she asks, "How was your mother? I imagine she must've been fed up with Damon since his young human days," she laughs.
Estrella smiles fondly. "Human Damon was tolerable. Actually, I was talking about my first birth mother, Vera. She was the kindest and most powerful woman I've ever known," she says, and Liz nods in understanding.
"And what about Estrella's mother?" Liz jokes, just as they hear someone come through the door.
Caroline walks in, carrying bags. "Hi, guys," she greets them, then gasps playfully. "Are you guys gossiping about me?"
They all smile. "If we were, you would've heard it, Care. And listened before entering," Estrella jokes back, making Caroline laugh.
"We were talking about my dearest mother," Estrella continues.
"She was... nice. I never really experienced her nurturing side because she never showed me any. But she loved Damon and Stefan, and they loved her. Stefan was always attached to her apron strings," she adds, smiling at the memory.
Caroline and Liz exchange looks of sympathy. Estrella chuckles softly.
"It's okay. I never really held it against her. She was acting out of fear of my father, who hated the very idea of having a daughter," she explains.
"I'm sure if she hadn't been so afraid and burdened by him, she would've loved me just the same as she did my brothers," she finishes, her voice steady but filled with understanding.
