**Long Chapter ahead**

Estrella quickly called Noah and Oliver to update them on the situation, prompting both of them to sigh in relief.

Over the next two days, Niklaus kept her far from the escalating drama with Lucien by showing her and Cami around New Orleans.

Together, they wandered through the vibrant city, soaking in its lively streets and the rich culture.

While Cami and Estrella admired the stall's displays, Niklaus stepped aside to answer a call.

His expression darkened as he spoke to Hayley and Elijah.

"And Freya is certain this power will be enough to kill Lucien?" he asked, his voice tense.

"Yes," Elijah responded. "But we'd be placing Davina in terrible danger. The only thing protecting her from the Ancestors is Freya's circle. If it's broken..."

"They'll rip her apart, Elijah," Hayley interjected, concern lacing her words. "She's just a kid."

"What choice do we have?" Elijah pressed.

"No," Klaus said firmly. "Find another way. If we destroy Davina, we lose both Kol and Marcel. I won't have us all turning on each other. Keep looking, brother."

Klaus hung up and walked back towards them, leaving a surprised Hayley to consider his words.

"Is everything alright?" Estrella asked, noticing the tension in Niklaus as he approached.

"Yes, nothing to worry about," Cami answered in his stead.

Estrella nodded but couldn't help looking at Niklaus with concern.

"I'm fine, love. Don't worry," he reassured her.

"Well, when the Mikaelsons get involved in something, it's anything but simple," Estrella jokes, trying to lighten the mood.

Niklaus smirked. "Come, you have to try beignets. You'll love them."

Later, Hayley joined them, urging Niklaus to come with her.

She told Cami and Estrella to return to the compound for safety.

Meanwhile, Freya and Elijah were in Elijah's study, discussing their next move.

"They're not answering," Elijah said, frustration creeping into his voice. "The Strix tell me that Lucien is headed to the bayou. We're out of time."

Freya's expression was grim. "We need to put an end to this. The only way to get the power I need to kill Lucien is to use Davina."

Downstairs, Davina sat within the protective circle that Freya had created, while Marcel stood beside her.

"This wasn't your fault, or Kol's," Davina said softly. "The Ancestors hate me because of choices I made. I'm not a kid. I'm not your responsibility."

Marcel's face softened. "Honey, you will always be my responsibility."

Davina smiled sadly. "What were you supposed to do? Lock me in an attic and keep the world at bay forever? You didn't let me down. I just grew up. Thank you for saving me that first time. And for everything else after. I love you, Marcel."

"I love you too," Marcel replied, his voice thick with emotion.

Suddenly, Elijah rushed into the room, pushing Marcel against the wall.

"Forgive me, Marcel," he said urgently as Freya moved towards Davina, beginning the spell to siphon the Ancestors' magic.
