The twins, along with Elena and Caroline, were at school when Rebekah made her grand return.
She entered the school with a quiet, yet undeniable air of confidence, catching up with Estrella briefly before she turned her attention to Stefan.
Without warning, she grabbed him by the throat, her grip firm and unyielding.
"What do you want?" Stefan rasped, his face showing equal parts surprise and annoyance.
Rebekah's eyes narrowed, her voice dripping with venom. "The same thing I wanted when you helped Niklaus dagger me," she replied coldly.
Estrella's eyebrows shot up in surprise, her expression a mix of shock and confusion. She hadn’t known.
Rebekah noticed and smirked, "You seem surprised, which means you didn’t know. You're forgiven. But I can’t say the same for your brother. So, be a darling and cooperate. I just need a few answers."
With a simple gaze, Rebekah compelled Stefan, Elena, and Caroline to speak truthfully.
"You’re wasting your time. We don’t know anything," Stefan replied, his tone defiant but resigned.
Rebekah tilted her head, unconvinced. "So, you just gave up? I thought you would do anything to save Elena. Even if it meant taking the cure yourself so you could grow old and die with her?"
Elena’s face paled, and Estrella, whose hair turned a telling shade of grey, dropped her gaze to the floor.
"Why do you look so surprised?" Rebekah's voice cut through the tension like a blade, her eyes scanning each face in the room.
When no one answered, Rebekah’s impatience grew. "I’m missing something. What is it?"
Caroline, clearly frustrated, blurted out, "They broke up, okay?"
Rebekah's lips curled into a wicked smile. "Broke up? Wait, I’m confused. I thought Elena was your epic love, Stefan?"
She turned, sauntering over to sit across from Stefan, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "I asked you what happened. You have to tell me."
Stefan’s jaw tightened, but the compulsion forced the truth out. "She slept with Damon."
The words hung in the air like a heavy cloud.
Elena gasped, shock and guilt written all over her face, while Caroline and Estrella exchanged looks of remorse.
Rebekah stood abruptly, looking pleased with the chaos she was stirring. "So, vampire Elena is a trollop who likes bad boys, which explains why Stefan reeks of alcohol. But what I don’t understand is why sweet, loving, innocent Elena could be so heartless toward Stefan."
Elena’s eyes darted to Stefan, guilt written all over her face.
Rebekah, relentless in her interrogation, pressed further. "How could she hurt you like that? Answer me."
Before Stefan could respond, Estrella spoke up, her voice low but steady, "She didn’t know it at the time, but she was sired to Damon."
"A sire bond. Fascinating," Rebekah mused, her interest piqued. "And what do you think about that, Elena?"
Compelled, Elena’s response was swift and honest. "I didn’t sleep with Damon because of the sire bond. I slept with Damon because I’m in love with him."
Stefan flinched as if struck, the raw pain clear in his eyes.
Elena, horrified by her own admission, sat frozen in disbelief.
Estrella, unable to hide her shock, stared wide-eyed at Elena.
Caroline, trying to shift the focus, interrupted sharply, "What does any of this have to do with the stupid cure?"
