Chapter 75

Kai, still under the influence of the werewolf venom, wobbled on his feet.

As he walked back to the barn, he failed to notice the absence of the Gemini members—no one was there.

"Hello? Anyone still alive, hmm? Anyone alive just raise your hand. I need blood," he called out.

Suddenly, Bonnie's voice echoed from the other end of the room.

"You need more than blood. Maybe some ointment? 'Cause gross." She pointed to her own neck, indicating his werewolf bite, and Kai laughed sarcastically.

"Ha ha ha. Do your friends think you're funny?" he sneered as he walked toward her. "Because maybe if you were funny-if you were the one with the good jokes, who they can always count on to make them laugh-maybe they'd be cool with letting you live instead of Elena."

Bonnie shrugged. "So, the sick humor's your thing. I'm just the one that does magic."

She raised her hand, causing the aneurysm as Kai clutched his head in pain.

"Undo the spell, Kai," She demanded, unamused.

Kai laughed through the pain. "I can't. What's done is done."

She thrust out her hand. "Ossox!" she incanted, and Kai's leg snapped, causing him to double over.

"Again!" she commanded, and another one of his bones broke, sending him to the floor, laughing.

"I can't undo the spell, Bonnie," Kai wheezed. "My death made it permanent."

"Fine. I'll just wait for the werewolf bite to kill you," Bonnie replied coldly.

He smirked. "You know what's funny? I didn't even know werewolves were real until I got bit by one."

She found a turned-over table and broke off a leg to use as a makeshift stake while Kai held his hand over his werewolf bite.

After a moment, his hand started to glow, and the bite healed.

"The thing is, Bon," he began, "the only way a guy turns into a wolf is if it's magic, right? So technically, their venom's magic, too. So I just went ahead and siphoned it up."

He stood up and used his magic to pull Bonnie off the ground, where she hung in the air for a moment.

"No, no!" She cried out in terror.

"Motus!" Kai shouted, thrusting his hand forward and sending her flying backward into a wall.

Bonnie crumpled to the floor in a heap.

Alaric, tearfully, called Damon to inform him that Jo and the rest of the Gemini Coven were alive.

Damon was stunned by the news, but he quickly realized Kai's plan, and the pieces began to fall into place.

Kai, having been betrayed by the Gemini witches and his twin, sought revenge.

He and Bonnie had trapped him in 1903. Kai had let Damon go, as a reason for him being Estrella's brother, choosing instead to target Elena and Bonnie.

Desperate to prevent Bonnie from confronting Kai, Damon tried calling her, but she didn't answer.

Frustrated, he called Matt, who told him where Bonnie had gone.

Cursing under his breath, Damon rushed to the barn, determined to stop her before it was too late.

Even Stefan, Caroline, and Lexi were stunned by the news that Jo and the rest of the Gemini Coven were alive.

Caroline quickly texted Tyler, who was in wolf form and wandering in pain, to let him know that Liv was stable.
