In the quiet realm of Nature's ethereal presence, a pang of sorrow echoed as Estrella cried out, her plea for mercy resonating even in her spectral form.
Nature herself was deeply moved, her very core stirred by Estrella's suffering, though bound by the laws of balance she had governed since the beginning.
In the form of gentle rain and a whispering wind, she tried to soothe the young witch's turmoil, hoping to cool the fire of rage burning within her heart.
"Is that care I sense for her?" her love asked softly, his voice thick with sadness. "Then why punish her for something that wasn't her fault? And with a curse so unbearable?"
Mother Nature closed her eyes, her expression one of deep regret.
"It was necessary for fate that lies ahead," she whispered, her voice carrying the weight of ages. "Yet, her anguish pierces through me."
Her love frowned, his gaze penetrating, sensing there was more beneath her words. "You know her destiny. This is what you wrote. If you truly wished to strip her of magic, why leave the door open to hope? Why not see it through to its end?"
Nature's gaze softened, a flicker of something more-perhaps pride, perhaps sorrow-crossing her face.
"It's not her I seek to punish," she admitted, "but her magic. I was reckless once, underestimating the depth of its power, just as I did with him. His magic came too suddenly for me to control, and now, centuries later, I understand-I was wrong. I respect it now, as I respect her. Like him, she must determine her own path, her own identity."
"And what of others,?" he asked, his voice tender. "You've already taken Victoria from her, her mentor, the one she saw as a mother figure-your own faithful witch."
"I'm not heartless," Nature responded softly, her voice thick with the burdens she carried. "But it's my duty to witness the end of every cycle. I ensured that Victoria found the peace she so deeply deserved."
"Even though Victoria had a hand in shaping Estrella into what she is? She despises you, her hatred runs deep for what was done to her family. How can you still respect her?"
"Because she stayed true to her nature," Nature replied, a touch of admiration in her voice. "She wasn't afraid to stand against what she thought was wrong, even if it meant opposing me. That is why I respect her."
"And what about Estrella's children?" her love asked, his gaze drifting to the young witch, now eight months pregnant, laughing as she swatted Noah's arm while he teased her about her waddling.
A gentle warmth spread across Nature's face as she watched them.
"Her children will be nurtured by good hands," she said quietly. "They'll face whatever fate has in store for them, as per the laws of the universe."
Her love smiled, knowing glint in his eyes. "You have a plan, don't you?" he asked, noticing the subtle shift in Nature's demeanor.
"As I said, I'm not heartless," she replied, her voice softening as she looked at Estrella with affection. "I cannot deny love to those who deserve it. I've learned from my past mistakes, and I won't repeat them again."
Her love stepped closer, his voice a gentle whisper. "And what of his magic?."
Nature sighed, the centuries of her existence settling in her voice. "Even I cannot upset the balance that has been set. I had to watch it unfold, helpless to change it. But now I see-free will must guide his magic. Though dangerous, it isn't inherently evil. The danger lies in the hands of those who wield it. That's why I came to respect it, why I respect both him and her."
