A few minutes later, as Estrella finished freshening up, she heard a knock at the door.
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
Gathering her courage, she made her way downstairs for the first time in days, each step feeling heavier than the last.
When she opened the door, there stood Enzo, his usual playful demeanor softened by concern.
"Hello, Tiny Witch," he greeted her.
"Hello," Estrella replied quietly, managing a small smile.
"Come in." She stepped aside to let him enter, but before she could say anything else, Caroline appeared, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Estrella.
She rushed forward, her voice a flurry of concern. "Ella, what's wrong? Do you need something? Are you hungry? Tell me-"
She paused mid-ramble when she noticed Enzo standing in the doorway, his presence unexpected.
Estrella shook her head, her emotions too tangled to find the right words.
Caroline immediately pulled her into a tight hug, the embrace was a silent assurance, a promise that everything was going to be fine, even if it didn't feel that way right now.
Lexi followed, wrapping her arms around Estrella in a comforting embrace, offering the support of a friend who understood the depth of her pain.
"Ella," Stefan whispered, his voice filled with a sad warmth as he stepped closer, enveloping her in a gentle hug.
"What's wrong? You need to rest. Are you hungry?" His voice trailed off in confusion as he noticed Enzo standing inside his house.
His protective instincts kicked in, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
"What are you doing here? Who invited you in?" Stefan demanded, his tone edged with suspicion.
"I called and invited him," Estrella said simply, her voice steady despite the tension in the room.
The surprise on their faces was evident, but she remained composed, knowing this was something she needed to do.
"Shall we go?" Enzo asked, his voice gentle as he tried to ease the tension, but before Estrella could respond, Damon and Bonnie entered the living room, their expressions guarded.
Estrella's hair didn't change color, as she stared at everyone, taking in the scene before her.
Jo, Alaric, Tyler, Olivia, and Matt were there too, each of them sharing in the heavy atmosphere of grief that hung over the room.
Damon and Bonnie avoided her eyes, their guilt and sorrow evident, as Estrella finally noticed a coffin in the center of the room.
"It's Elena. We are saying goodbye to her," Stefan explained, recognizing the curiosity in Estrella's gaze.
His voice was soft, yet it carried the weight of the moment.
Estrella looked at him, surprised. For a moment, she was torn between her own grief and the need to say her farewells.
She turned to Enzo, her eyes filled with unspoken words.
"Can you wait for a few minutes, please?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Enzo nodded, understanding the gravity of what she needed to do.
As she began to move toward Elena, Damon stepped forward, instinctively trying to stop her.
But Stefan, ever the voice of reason, intervened.
"Let her," he said firmly, his gaze locking with Damon's in a silent plea for understanding.
