Chapter 13

Unbeknownst to everyone, Klaus had arrived in Mystic Falls, taking possession of Alaric Saltzman.

He moved through the school with an air of confidence, blending in seamlessly among the students.

Klaus had Katherine under his control, extracting information about everyone which ultimately led him to Estrella.

When she revealed that Estrella was Stefan Salvatore's sister and a witch, Klaus's eyes gleamed with intrigue.

"Fascinating," he murmured, a sly smile creeping onto his face as he turned his attention to Katherine.

She nervously inquired about her and their connection, but Klaus silenced her with cruel efficiency, stabbing a knife into her knee.

The sadistic smile never left his lips as he reveled in her pain.

"Aging has rusted your manners, Katerina. Haven't your parents taught you not to meddle in matters that do not concern you? Oh, wait-I killed them before they could," he taunted, relishing the anger and despair in Katherine's eyes.

As he entered the classroom, he felt an unexpected shock upon seeing Estrella.

Despite having only heard rumors about her, the familiar essence she exuded was a reminder of his past human self.

Intrigued, he was determined to learn everything about her.

Throughout the lesson, Klaus, still in Alaric's body, couldn't help but fixate on Estrella and Elena.

Estrella sensed the weight of his gaze and shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her instincts warning her that something was amiss.

"Hello, Estrella, how are you?" he asked after the class as everyone was leaving.

"I am quite well, Mr. Saltzman. Excited about the upcoming dance. Thank you for asking," she replied politely.

"And how are you?" she inquired.

"I am good too, dear friend," he responded, the words sending a chill down Estrella's spine.

She froze, staring at him, a nagging sense of familiarity echoing in her mind.

Klaus noticed her reaction and smiled subtly, enjoying the slight recognition flickering on her face.

"Is everything alright, Estrella?" he asked, feigning concern.

Estrella nodded, confused by his behavior, smiled back awkwardly, and left the classroom.

During lunch, a girl approached the table where Estrella, Bonnie, and Elena were seated.

She had a message from Klaus for Elena and Estella, which startled the latter.

"For Elena: watch out for him. And for Estella: nice to see you again. Hope you save him a dance."

Back at the Salvatore house, Klaus, still possessing Alaric, arrived just as Bonnie relayed the lunch incident to Damon and Stefan.

Bonnie reassured them not to worry and that she was ready.

Damon, skeptical, lunged at her, but she deftly used her magic to hurl him back.

The others stared in astonishment, while Estrella, witnessing the display, clapped her hands in delight, her hair turning blue-which piqued Klaus's interest.

"Impressive, do it again, please," Estrella encouraged, eliciting laughter from Bonnie.

Damon, who was getting up, mockingly laughed at Estrella, causing her to laugh even more.
