"Twins? Do you realize what this means?" exclaimed a woman, her expression furious.

"We must stop her. She's dangerous enough as it is. Now, with the children she carries, imagine how powerful they will be," she continued, her voice dripping with disdain.

"Even that vampire couple has come around. We need to act quickly before any more nonsense spreads," another added.

The others nodded in agreement.

"Gather the other witches. We end this tonight," she sneered, determination evident in her tone.

In Mystic Falls, peace was never an option as the gang faced one problem after another, piling up until they neared the breaking point.

Caroline started to feel unwell, a strange occurrence that immediately caught Stefan and Lexi's attention.

Vampires didn't get sick, which raised their confusion and concern.

As they discussed their plans for handling Julian and Lily's next move, as well as the ongoing search for Estrella, the tension in the room was thick.

Strategies were being thrown around, but Caroline had been quiet, her face growing paler by the minute.

Suddenly, without warning, Caroline collapsed, her body hitting the floor with a soft thud.

Both turned in shock, eyes wide.

"Caroline!" Stefan yelled, rushing to her side.

He knelt down, touching her forehead and recoiling at the warmth radiating from her skin. "She's burning up."

Lexi's face mirrored Stefan's confusion. "How is this even possible?"

They quickly scooped Caroline up and rushed her to the hospital, but after a thorough examination, the doctors could find nothing wrong with her.

"She's fine, medically," the doctor had said, shaking his head in confusion. "Everything is normal."

Growing more desperate, Lexi pulled out her phone and dialed Bonnie, hoping for magical insight.

But Bonnie was away with Damon, and there wasn't much she could do remotely.

With no other option, Stefan reluctantly called Valerie for help.

She arrived swiftly, her expression serious as she approached Caroline's bedside.

Valerie closed her eyes, casting a spell to check for magical interference.

Almost immediately, she felt it-a barrier of magic surrounding Caroline, something dark and complex.

"There's something here," Valerie murmured, holding Caroline's hand.

As she began to siphon the barrier, Caroline flinched in pain.

"Hey, stop! Stefan," Caroline protested.

"Valerie, stop," Lexi echoed, stepping forward.

Valerie gently placed her hand on Caroline's stomach, her brow furrowed in concentration.

Suddenly, a faint red glow appeared beneath her hand, illuminating the room with an eerie light as she began to siphon away the magic.

Caroline's eyes widened in alarm, her body tensing.

But Valerie suddenly gasped, her eyes snapping open as if she'd seen something impossible.

"What is it?" Stefan asked, alarmed by her reaction.
