Caroline's voice was barely a whisper, filled with shock. "Demi-god?" she said, and every head in the room turned to stare at Estrella, eyes wide with awe and trepidation. Estrella met Bonnie's gaze, and they shared a silent understanding, piecing together the puzzle.
Bonnie's first ascendant had been the key-finally, they had an answer to how souls like Katherine and Silas could transcend realms to find peace and why Bonnie had become a pathway. Estrella's magic, unknowingly shared, had bridged realms in ways they hadn't anticipated.
Without delay, they steeled themselves for the impending confrontation. Bonnie and Liv, focusing intently, performed a locator spell, pouring their energy into finding Agnes, the elusive force that had haunted their steps. Magic pulsed between them, sharp and steady.
Meanwhile, Alaric and the others successfully subdued Vicki with the aid of her father and Matt. Their reunion was tense but necessary, each person coming together for a common cause.
The atmosphere shifted when Noah, Oliver, and the twins entered, visibly shaken. Estrella and Kai exchanged a worried look, sensing the urgency. Noah offered an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, but Eleanor and Aiden's magic...it's been erratic. They're hard to control."
Estrella softened, drawing the twins into a comforting embrace. "It's okay. You did well," she whispered, brushing Eleanor's hair back and kissing Aiden's cheeks. "Lexi, take Aiden, Eleanor, Josie, and Lizzie to a safe place. Please, keep them secure."
As Lexi nodded and led the younger ones away, Estrella turned to Noah and Oliver. Her voice was gentle yet firm. "Please, go with them. You don't have to stay here."
Noah's gaze hardened with resolve. "We're staying, Estrella. We're here to help you."
Sensing her tension, Kai stepped closer and murmured, "Calm down." He wrapped his arms around her, his warmth grounding her in the moment.
Estrella allowed herself to sink into his embrace, closing her eyes, but an unsettling vision flickered through her mind. The dream returned-Agnes's presence thickening like a dark fog, filling her senses with dread.
"What is it?" Kai asked, concern lacing his tone.
Estrella opened her eyes, but they were distant, haunted. She looked ahead, her dark hair shimmering as strands turned to silvery white. "I saw something..." she murmured, her voice hollow.
Damon stepped forward, his usual bravado softened by worry. "Hey, what did you see?"
Estrella's surroundings shifted, and she found herself standing in an ancient, twisted forest, the shadows alive with an unnatural chill. She looked into a dark pool of water at her feet and gasped-her own reflection stared back, a crown gleaming atop her head.
An eerie, disembodied voice echoed through the silence, laced with contempt. "I have seen your weakness, Estrella. I know your dreams."
A spark of magic ignited in her, a fierce, bright light against the darkness. She whipped around, her voice resolute. "Show yourself, coward."
In response, Agnes materialized from the shadows, her presence an oppressive force that pressed down on Estrella. "Do you see how powerful I am? I am inside your mind, Estrella. You're too weak, too feeble to control the magic you've been given," she sneered.
The taunt hit its mark, sending a ripple of doubt through Estrella. Agnes's chants filled her mind, her words twisting and tightening around Estrella's thoughts. Pain blazed within her, and she cried out, her voice shattering the stillness. Somewhere beyond the fog of her mind, she heard Kai's voice, a lifeline amid the chaos.
"Estrella," he murmured, his voice soothing. "You have to control your mind. Let it go."
Beside him, Anora's voice joined in. "Don't let her in, Estrella. She only has power if you let her."
