Another fantastic show.
Izuku walked off stage, thanked his musicians again, and walked off to his dressing room.
Iida was waiting there for him.
"Amazing." Tenya said with a soft smile, "just like always."
Izuku smiled back and fell into his boyfriend's arms. They rested in a hug for a while. Izuku was exhausted from the show.
"What do you want for dinner?" Iida asked as they broke apart and sat down on the couch in the dressing room.
"You."
Iida buried his head in his hands, his face blushed in royal red, "IZUKU!!!" He shouted exasperatedly.
Izuku laughed and let his head fall into Iida's lap. He was now laying down sideways and looking up dreamily at his boyfriend.
Iida, his face still cooling, moved his hands to play with Izuku's hair and rub his cheek tenderly.
"Is this what they call the honeymoon phase?" Izuku asked, unable to wipe the cheesy grin off his face.
"We've been dating for a year and a half. I think it's ended by now." Tenya replied, both of them making eye contact.
"I hope it never ends." Izuku said, carefully reaching up to grab the collar of his boyfriend's shirt and guide their lips together.
Iida happily complied.
For a few minutes, they were there, kissing. Peaceful.
Izuku was particularly indulgent. He kept pushing deeper, and while Iida didn't mind, he could tell his boyfriend was attempting to drown out something else.
Carefully, Iida de-escalated things and they stopped. Their eyes fluttered open.
"Are you okay?" Tenya asked, cupping Izuku's face with one hand.
There was a certain glint in Izuku's eye that gave something away, that spoke when he couldn't. It always told when he wasn't doing his best.
Izuku chose to lay back down with his head in his boyfriend's lap, staring up at the ceiling. He had his hand over his stomach.
"I'm okay." Izuku said after a minute. He had really considered it. He didn't feel the need to hide anything from Iida.
"What's bothering you?" Iida asked, "you can be okay and still have something bothering you."
Izuku didn't smile or react much. He just sat with the idea for a couple of minutes. Iida knew he needed that.
"I'm stressed." Izuku chose to say after a while.
"From the tour schedule?" Iida asked.
"Tours are hard. I feel like- like where do I even call home? I feel at home with you. I feel at home on stage. But everything else around that feels like... not wrong because I'm used to it, but bad because it's just SO much all the time." Izuku explained, "I feel like I'm being pushed to my limits."
Iida frowned, "like when we met?"
"A little." Izuku said softly. Unsurely.
"Your schedules are pretty packed..." Iida said, "could you ask for some more off days?"
"The dates are already set, it's too late to change it now." Izuku said, his eyes glossing over a little bit as he realized how stuck he was. It was unbelievably frustrating to be so exhausted with no way to recover.
His teary eyes did not go unnoticed to Iida, "oh, hey, honey. Hey, it's going to be alright. We'll get through it together, okay?"
Izuku nodded, reaching up to wipe away tears.
