(Y/n) woke up to the sound of persistent knocking at the front door, a groan escaping her lips as she groggily rolled out of bed. The knocking didn't seem to care that she was barely awake. Still half-asleep, she stumbled out of her room, down the hall, and took a right into the living room, heading straight for the front door. She didn't bother to change out of her wrinkled pajamas, her groggy state didn't leave much room for concern over appearances.
Swinging the door open, she blinked in surprise when she found Emi standing there, perfectly put together as usual. The blonde's makeup was expertly contoured, her hair styled into two neat buns on either side of her head. When Emi caught sight of (Y/n)'s disheveled state, she immediately burst into laughter.
"You look like shit," Emi teased, walking past her and into the house without waiting for an invitation.
(Y/n) blinked, still waking up as she shut the door behind her. "Emi...? What are you doing here?" she asked, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
Emi casually surveyed the interior of the house before turning her attention back to her friend. "Kai told me about what happened yesterday," she said, her tone light but her eyes sharp with concern. "So, I'm here to get you through the day. Now, come on, show me where your room is."
(Y/n) yawned, the events of the previous day rushing back to her in an unwelcome flood of memories. Her features drooped, reluctant to revisit the mess she'd been caught up in. Nonetheless, she trudged past Emi and led her down the familiar hallway back to her room.
Emi followed closely, her gaze immediately darting to the wardrobe as soon as they entered. She strode over to it, opening the doors and rifling through the clothes. Her brows furrowed as she examined the contents with disapproval. "We went shopping together, didn't we? Don't tell me this is all you have," she remarked, shooting (Y/n) a skeptical look.
(Y/n), too tired to argue, flopped back onto her bed and stretched lazily. That was all the answer Emi needed.
The taller girl sighed, shaking her head in resignation as she began pulling out different articles of clothing. She hummed to herself while laying them out on the bed. "How are you feeling today?" she asked after a moment, her voice softening just a bit.
(Y/n) furrowed her brows, her voice dry with sarcasm. "You're treating me like I just got dumped."
Emi snickered at the comment, clearly amused. "Either way, you've got a broken heart," she mused, closing the wardrobe and handing (Y/n) the carefully chosen clothes.
"Come on," Emi said, her voice firm but kind. "Get dressed. We've got the whole day ahead of us, and you're not getting through it looking like you just crawled out of a dumpster."
(Y/n) sat up on her bed, staring lazily at the pile of clothes Emi had left for her. "Why... so many?" she mumbled, her groggy brain barely able to comprehend the amount of layers.
Emi, already halfway out of the room, shook her head with a dramatic sigh. "It's called layering, sweetheart. It can make or break an outfit. Now, come on, put this on. I'll wait outside," she instructed, disappearing through the door.
(Y/n) groaned softly, shaking her head as she started pulling on the clothes. "Layering..." she muttered under her breath. "Did she pull these out of thin air? I swear I've never seen this shirt before."
She fumbled through the outfit, still waking up as she adjusted the unfamiliar pieces. Once she was dressed, she opened the door to let Emi back inside. The blonde stepped in, her eyes sweeping over (Y/n) from head to toe, a satisfied smile tugging at her lips.
"Good job," Emi praised, folding her arms with a smug look. "On any other day, I'd do your makeup, but you look like a mess. Luckily for you, you look like a hot mess, so it works. Come on."
