Sitting zoned out at the beginning of her music class, she felt a presence take a seat beside her. (Y/n) turned her head only to be met with gray hair and teal eyes.

"And here I thought you died," Asahi joked, flashing her a cocky smile. (Y/n) looked around the room, confused as to why he'd be there.

"What?"

Asahi rolled his eyes as he pulled out his phone and started to tap it. "You never texted me back, babe. I don't take rejection very well," he grins, shaking his head as his hair fell over his eyes. (Y/n) rolled her eyes at the nickname.

"Consider it rejection therapy then," (Y/n) smiled, stuffing her hands in her pockets. "I meant to text you, I did. I just got caught up and forgot, sorry." She looked around the room guiltily. "Anyways, what're you doing here?"

Asahi got comfortable in his seat, pulling out his phone to play a game. "What do you mean? I have this hour too, y'know," he spoke, his eyes not moving from his phone as he spoke to her. (Y/n) couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed that she never noticed him.

Before she could comment on the subject, the bell rang, causing the class to fall into silence. In entered Mr. Ishikawa, a bigger man with a dark complexion and long hair. He took a seat at his desk at the front, folding his arms over his chest.

"I want everyone to pull their laptops out," he starts, his voice deep yet calm. "Open up AudioLab. I want everyone in this room to create a song that is no shorter than two minutes and 30 seconds. You'll have two weeks to finish this assignment."

(Y/n) groaned to herself, opening up the installation. She glanced over at Asahi who didn't even look like he'd heard the teacher. She nudged him, garnering his attention. Pausing his game, he sighed, looking over at her with an impatient countenance.

The girl gestured to her laptop, opting for him to get his out too. He rolled his eyes but obliged, grabbing his laptop from his bag and setting it on the desk. Smiling, (Y/n) pulled out her own case of AirPods and connected them to her laptop to begin the assignment.

After an hour of working on her song, she had managed to grab samples of instrumentals. Now, all she needed to add was lyrics. Next to her, Asahi surprisingly took the assignment seriously. He had sat up close to his laptop screen, furrowing his brows occasionally as he composed his song.

Every time she glanced over at him, she noticed that his screen was filled with multiple different tracks. Before she could observe any further, the bell rang, followed by the sounds of students immediately closing their laptops.

(Y/n) followed, stuffing her laptop in her bag as she rose from her desk. Asahi grumbled, obviously broken from his train of thought as he packed away his things. He then glanced up towards (Y/n), his eyes trailing her before they made eye contact.

Without a word, (Y/n) started walking towards the classroom door.

"Wait up," the boy spoke from behind her, causing her to stop in her steps. As he caught up with the girl, they then continued their walk.

"How did your song go? You seemed pretty focused," (Y/n) commented, glancing over to the boy next to her. With a shrug, Asahi took out one AirPod.

"It's fine."
